Infinity Ward has a shitty DLC release record.  They only released one DLC pack for MW1 and only two DLC packs for MW2 (one of which featured mostly recycled content from MW1).  If this were a Treyarch CoD game, I might consider signing up since they have a good track record of releasing a lot of high quality DLC for both CoD:WaW and CoD:Blops.  I would watch out for a lot of the DLC that Infinity Ward releases under the premium subscription plan to be recycled maps from earlier games in the series.

@Infininja: Yes, I'm playing the 360 version, and can see how hacking would be easier with a mouse.  A mouse would be especially useful for when you want to launch a bunch of captures/fortifys all at the same time.  Plus, to keep the network map zoomed out so you can see more of it, you have to keep the right trigger pressed, which can make things awkward when you are rushing around from node to node after the timer starts ticking.

@picklecannon: Since I read that it's possible to capture the enemy start node, almost all the hack puzzles I've seen seem to have only one-way bridges out of he Diagnostic Subroutine.  I am waiting for a puzzle to come along to try that tactic on.

Is anyone else finding the hacking to be a bit of a PITA?  Level 1 hacking was easy and fun.  Level 2 could get a but frustrating, but level 3 and I am ready to give up.  Kind of sorry I have put points into hacking since it is such a pain in the ass.

That's not a trend.  That's been in the internet forum rulebook since USENET first came online.

Our President and the Tea Party are both destroying the country.  They both have half of the right idea for fixing the debt problem, but are incapable of compromise.  We need both a balanced budget amendment to the constitution and we need to allow the Bush tax cuts on the wealthy to expire to generate more revenue.  I am not a huge fan of raising taxes in general since higher taxes do have a negative impact on job creation, but if a modest tax increase on wealthy individuals is the compromise we need to make to get a balanced budget amendment, I think it's worth it.  Nothing is hurting our economy more right now than the inability of the President and Congress to control government spending and live within a budget that fits within the amount of revenue that we take in.  Once the balanced budget amendment is in place, then Democrats will have no choice but to face the fact that our entitlement spending MUST be cut down to size.  We need to raise the future retirement age and the Medicare eligibility age for people who are under 55 years old right now, and we need to require those retirees who have enough assets and/or retirement income to pay for part of their own Medicare coverage as well as receive reduced Social Security benefits.  I am ashamed of what the Baby Boom generation has turned this great country into, and it's time we let that generation start paying some of its own bills instead of leaving them for younger generations to pay.

I am not sure what GB's obsession is with the DNF hate, and the "mean-spirited misogyny" that they never fail to mention.  Meanwhile, it's A-O-K for a game like Bulletstorm to feature slo-mo skill shots of you blowing the nuts off 1000 male enemies at a time and a game like Gears of War to feature curb-stomps and chainsaw impalements.  My advice would be to lighten up and get off your humorless, politically-correct, holier-than-thou pedestal once in a while.  It must be pretty awful not to be able to find humor in any jokes that might offend any demographic other than white heterosexual males, especially in a game as cartoonish in its characters and humor as DNF.

DNF is an an average to below-average game.  It was a game with many flaws, but which also actually had some fairly interesting level design here and there and had some fun old-school gameplay elements.  But from the way it is bashed on GB, you would think it was ET the Extraterrestrial for the Atari 2600, or Superman for the N64.

The Homefront MP hate is even more unjustified.  You can criticize the SP of Homefront for being too linear and too short, but the MP is actually fairly decent and brings some clever ideas to the mix for military FPS multiplayer.  No, it's not as polished as Battlefield: Bad Company 2 or CoD multiplayer, but it is fairly good and actually quite excellent for a totally new franchise.

However, I agree that it's a dumb idea for both of these titles to try to charge for multiplayer add-ons when what they really need is the shot-in-the-arm that a some free multiplayer DLC would provide.

I played the demo on my 360 and enjoyed it.  The inventory system was unusual, but once I learned it, I think it's the best equipment/inventory system I have seen for an action RPG on a console.  It's a better implementation than Sacred 2, Torchlight, or D&D Daggerdale.  I will definitely be buying.

Yep, it's pretty clear that the "Family / Little Girl" trailer was totally misleading, because this new trailer makes it pretty clear this game is just going to be another ultraviolent zombie-killing game with little hope that it somehow found a way to include a real story or characters you actually care about.

The Wii U seems like it might be cool since it will provide all the capabilities of a tablet and a traditional console.  I'm more intrigued by tablet gaming than I am buy iPhone / Android phone handset-sized gaming anyway, so the Wii U may be a way to get both in one device.  Not having to spend money to buy an iPad or Xoom is a big money-saver. The Wii U seems like a really smart use of video-streaming technology to put all the hardware power of a console in a box under the TV and then stream the video to an integrated display device/controller.  This saves them the cost and hassle of having to squeeze all the guts of an iPad into the tablet form factor itself.  I hope the wireless streaming of HD video to the controller doesn't interfere with my wireless N home network, though.
