Um, they DIDN'T talk about the game like it murdered their grandmother or exploded their play station. They made some passing comments that you interpret as a tirade because they struck a chord. They've had worse to say about beloved games before.
Disney actually doesn't tone down characters like Kano AT ALL!
I wonder how they'll keep their rating without toning down Kano...
Prediction: Kano flips out at villain support meeting, zealously plunges arm through Pac-Man Ghost, to no effect. He retracts and looks quizzically at his empty hand, confused at the absence of a still-beating heart. Receives brief nonplussed stare from rest of the group before meeting continues as if nothing had happened.
I don't like how he just blasted the guy in the face at the end.
I agree. Not that I think there'd be much reason to leave him alive in a tense moment like that, but "point blank shotgun blast to the face" feels like ND pandering to the same bloodlust it's trying to make you question. Trying to have its violence cake and eat it too.
That said, I'm sure there will be other ways to deal with the situation and the game looks great.
I have to sit on many gaming forums listening to 15 year olds and reading nonsense with IGN and gamespot claiming these games are masterpieces of the medium.
