My bad, it turns out it's a $2 iPhone game (I must have purchased it on sale). But yeah, it must be a combination of Nintendo profits and a refusal to price anything lower than $5. 
 
And this game needs it - it is fun, in a totally insane sort of way, but not $5 worth.
