It is a question where it seems that half the people on earth says "no" and the other says "yes"
I personally think ocarina of time is better because of the story was so damn well crafted and twilight princess felt a little messier story wise, and also hyrule in TP felt alot messier (why are all the bridges broken?!?!)
Compared to oot's simple map I like oot better.
what about you?
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Game » consists of 20 releases. Released Nov 21, 1998
The first 3D Legend of Zelda game, Ocarina of Time was created for the Nintendo 64 in 1998 and introduced innovative mechanics such as Z-targeting as well as many of the series' other trademarks. It has frequently been ranked as the greatest game of all time by many publications.
Do you think this game is better than Twilight Princess?
I completely agree. Twilight Princess felt like a retread with some very uninspired early dungeons. The atmosphere was very well done, but that was about the only thing. The game was very conservative and I really hope future Zelda titles attempt some new ideas.
Well Ocarina of Time is my favorite game ever. So I'm gonna have to give the nod to that. But I was incredibly impressed by Twilight Princess' dungeons. They were awesome, and HUGE! Man, things took forever. In a good way. I can clear Deku Tree in 20 minutes, easily, but the first dungeon in TP took me like... 3 hours. Really good. It's definitely my second favorite Zelda game after OoT. And while I think the series needs a shake-up at some point, I am not nearly tired of this formula yet. They just need to introduce more new items like the Spinner and the Rod of Dominion, because the puzzles involving the bow and "old" items like that did feel a little stale. But overall there were great new uses of old items, like the Iron Boots with the magnets, the boomerang with the wind, and so on. The bosses were too easy though, but I guess they've always kinda been that way once you figure out their patterns.
Ocarina of time is way better than Twighlight Princess TP was so boring and repetitive I could barely bring myself to complete it
Ocarina of time felt like it had more variety, and certainly more challenge. It's surprising how well the gameplay holds up, actually.... and that is precisely the problem with twilight princess, it is too much like OoT. We already have OoT. We need something different, like the Windwaker or Majora's Mask. As we have all discovered, giving the fans what they want is not always the best idea!
I get the impression that Twilight Princess was an attempt to create an ultimate Zelda on the premise of Ocarina of Time, and it proved that it wasn't possible to recreate what Ocarina of Time was. I think Zelda needs to be adventurous and I actually prefer Wind Waker to Twilight Princess.
I guess so; Twilight Princess was really good, but at least for me, I've played all the Zelda titles so far, and I think it was kind of predictable, and the structure of the game was not a huge change, or something innovative, but it was really really good; Ocarina of time set a precedence for all the video game industry not only for any Zelda game
TP was a great game to be sure, but the fact that I have only completed it once, while I have completed OoT close to 15 times, is a little bit of an indicator that I like OoT quite a bit more.
The one thing, besides graphics, that TP did better for me was the combat. And the Ganon/Ganondorf battle. That was godly.
Ocarina of Time was a lot more revolutionary than TP, when it first came out.
TP was a very good actualization, with a darker look that i loved, an amazing supporting character and fantastic dungeons (but those were in OoT too).
I loved both, can't pick one. But overall OoT is a more important game, no doubt.
Without any doubt. I felt Twilight Princess was to easy and not as impressive at times that game actually felt quiet boring it was still a good game but it being similar to Ocarina Of Time is not the answer. It felt like been there done that or I saw all this before. Ocarina Of Time without any doubt.
I feel that Twilight Princess was an overall better game, even though Ocarina of Time was a more revolutionary title at the time. As such, gamers seem to think of Ocarina of Time more fondly and are reluctant to accept Twilight Princess as mechanically a better game.
I prefer Twilight Princess, then again I prefered Ocarina of Time over A Link to the Past and I prefered A Link to the Past over Zelda 1. All were awesome games; for their time, but each iteration of Zelda easily surpasses the previous for me, in terms of gameplay, in terms of story, each time a new one comes out it surpasses the previous for me, I'm sure that the next Zelda game will take over Twilight Princess for me as well.
Ocarina of time is by far the better game of the two. Twilight Princess felt a bit like a "paintbynumbers" Zelda game.
"Twilight Princess is obviously superior than Ocarina of Time, but most people will remember OoT more because it was new.Not really. TP played almost identically to Ocarina despite the game being 10 years old. And TP had a very dull story compared to OoT. The only real advantage is technical, the gameplay is identical minus the uninspired puzzles.

Ocarina of Time is better because it revolutionized Zelda and action, adventure games. Twilight Princess tries to be to much like it but can't match its brilliance.
OoT was a great game and holds up well today and to me twilight princess just felt like an extension of OoT, to be honest though i still haven't completed Twilight Princess because it felt a little too much like OoT. I think that they seriously need to shake up the zelda franchise because its starting to get stale, like they did with the resident evil franchise. Although i still enjoyed playing TP it just didn't feel like a great leap forward that i wanted, so hoepfully the next pure Wii Zelda game will truely utilise the Wii.
"Nothing will ever beat OoT. It was the greatest game of all time hands down. That's why many people consider it the greatest Zelda game? I said I haven't played it in a long time, but I have played it. And I do remember loving it. Although not as much as OoT. Majora's Mask's story is almost always considered the best story of any Zelda game as well.
And Jonathan, Majora's Mask was ass compared to OoT. Twilight Princess > Majora's Mask.

Ocarina of Time had a better story and it was an epic adventure Twilight Princess you felt you had been there done that seen it Ocarina Of Time and it felt dull at times Ocarina Of Time didn't it was awesome all the way through.
It's not even that Twilight Princess is the better game, or Ocarina of Time is the better game: They ARE THE SAME GAME.
That's why Ocarina of Time is better. It's the exact same game as Twilight Princess, only it came 8 years earlier.
Also, in case you all want to feel old, this year is the 10 year aniversary of the release of Ocarina of Time.
