An Old Dog With New Tricks. 2

The Rainbow Six series has been renowned for its realistic tactical depth, and gained notoriety for the same reason. With a new range of hardware comes the next generation of games, and Rainbow Six: Vegas is one which has changed dramatically from its ancestors, and in turn gives a strong presentation of what today’s Rainbow Six games should be: a more accessible game that in many ways is more enjoyable than its predecessors, but which unforunately lacks the necessary polish to make itself trul...

    Just Plain Fun... 0

So it's been a while since the release of Tom Clancy's 'Rainbow Six: Vegas'. I myself have been playing his games a number of years, and initially began with the original Rainbow Six games like 'Rogue Spear'. At the time, these games stood out from the average FPS. They were the embodiment of the tactical and strategic shooter, yet these elements, albeit interesting, hindered the game-play mechanic and made progression within the game somewhat slow. Outfitting your characters and each of your t...

Rainbow Six Vegas PSP Review 0

Rainbow Six Vegas puts you in sin city as you play as two commandos to stop terrorists from attacking Las Vegas. First of all the game isn't even look it takes place in Las Vegas. it's mostly in warehouses, house, and dams. They should call it Rainbow Six Warehouse. The graphics are just bad and the sound isn't as good either. The AI is just really, really dumb. When they spot you they sit where they are or run around shooting at you. There a little bit of tacticalness which is hugging up on wal...

    Close to perfection. 0

The Tom Clancy series has always been known for their realistic, tactical approach to the shooter genre, and the Rainbow Six series in particular has been Tom Clancy's longest running franchise as well as, arguably, their most popular. Rainbow Six Vegas carries out this tradition, but re-hauls the series in almost every way. One way notice first about Vegas is its new cover system. On my opinion, this system is superior to Gears' system in about every way. All the player has to do to get behind ...

My favorite Shooter on the 360 0

When I first go my original xbox I played the hell out of rainbow six 3 with amazing multiplayer and squad action it was hard not to like. After that I was extremely disappointed with lockdown trying to go more actiony if thats a word and the game was horrible . So when I got my 360 back in 2006 just for Gears of War I decided to try Vegas. The game was amazing I mean stunning graphics (for the time) a cover system that was 10 time better than anything Gears Of War could be and persistent elite ...

    Took Me Long Enough 0

I'm not going to lie.  I have not been a fan of the Tom Clancy line of video games.  I've played my fair share of them but I have never felt the need or desire to finish one out.  The closest I had ever come to finishing one before was the original Ghost Recon on the PC.  I made it through about eight mission in that game before hitting a brick wall.  It basically comes down to my desire to feel like a super-hero badass that absorbs bullets like The Terminator as opposed to well... a regular sol...

    Viva Las Vegas Baby!!!! 0

Rainbow Six Vegas is the newest installment in the long running Rainbow Six franchise; it also reinvents the series for the new age. It has reinvigorated the series by including the most intense combat sequences ever seen in a tactical shooter, whilst pitting you up against some of the smartest AI seen in any game. Add in an enthralling multiplayer experience and you have one of the most complete tactical shooter packages available to date. The Single Player campaign will have you play as Logan K...

    A great tactical shooter 0

Move over Ghost Recon because the best tactical shooter to date has just released. Rainbow six doesn't not reinvent the wheel, but takes all of the parts of shooting games that are liked and turn it into a polished high quality experience. The game starts in Mexico where you are reconing possible terrorist activity and guess what? We actually have a storyline with the terrorist. I will avoid spoilers, but the storyline is just riveting and we actually have links with the soldiers and the terrori...

    Frustratingly good!!! 0

I bought this game in celebration of passing some exams so was expecting big things from it! I was not disappointed! First of all here is my system spec: -Athlon 64 X2 4200 @ 2.2ghz -ASUS M2N4 sli -2gb Corsair DDR2 667mhz -Nvidia 7600gt 256mb As you can see its a pretty low to mid spec but was playable. The overall look of the game was amazing with stunning visuals of Vegas and its casinos. The character visuals are good but the terrorists are pretty generic. The gameplay is fantastic and I st...

My Time with the Helicopter Ride Simulator 0

I've never been in a helicopter. At least not for real. One time I was in a very small plane. That was pretty cool, but then we landed and they actually let me get out of the very small plane and then I wasn't in the very small plane anymore. Which inversely reminds me of a game I've been playing called We're Going To Make You Sit In a Helicopter and Give You Control Of Only Your Head In Order to Torture You By Reminding You That Yes This Is an Interactive Medium But We're Only Going To Let You ...

Infuriatingly difficult, but incredibly intense and addictive. 0

I'm not going to lie to you; Rainbow Six Vegas is an infuriatingly difficult game. Difficult to the point that if you're a controller thrower, expect to have launched your Xbox 360 controller across the room at least a dozen times before the game is over. No matter, there WILL be moments of Rainbow Six Vegas-induced rage if you play this game. This is an indisputable fact, whether you are one who frequently rages while playing video games or not. So what's so great about a game that's difficult...

As Sin City drowns in Chaos, three Men come to save the Day. 0

Ubisoft's latest entry in the Rainbow Six franchise puts you in the shoes of team leader Logan Keller whose teammates got kidnapped on a routine mission to capture the terrorist leader Irena Morales. Logan makes it out on his own, but has to leave his mates behind on order of the headquarter. It appears that an army of terrorists has invaded Sin City and Keller is to lead Bravo team to clear the situation and uncover the plot. It's too bad though that the story sounds like taken right out of a T...

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 0

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six series of games have seen a whole lot of change over the years. The series started out as a slow, tactical, shooter with a heavy emphasis on planning. When the series made its jump to the Xbox with Rainbow Six 3, the game dropped the planning stage to attempt to appeal to a broader audience, while still retaining a tactical shooter feel. The game was extremely successful, becoming one of the most played games on Xbox Live. But after a well received expansion, the develop...

One of the 360's Finest 0

Rainbow Six: Vegas which released on the Xbox 360 on November 20, 2006 quickly established itself as one of the premier shooters on the console.  The game offers simplified controls and a super-intuitive cover system.  Also the graphics provide a beautiful looking Las Vegas playground with showers of coins busting out of slot-machines as head shots splatter onto the walls.  The single-player is lengthy and substantial especially when going through missions with a team of 4 friends via online co-...

My most anticipated PSP game has finally arrived, and it was defi 0

I’ve been waiting for this psp game ever since it was announced back in December, when it was supposed to be launched alongside the console version. And after numerous delays, the game has finally arrived, and in the end, this game was definitely worth the wait. The psp version of Vegas is very different from its console brother. The single player puts you in control of a two-man Rainbow team known as team Armstrong. The squad is lead by Brian Armstrong, who you’ll be playing as most of the time...

BPReview: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas (PS3) 0

What I liked: A.I. - You have 2 buddies that you order around to take cover, fire at the enemy, clear rooms etc, and they are pretty decent at it. Usually in games like this the people you order around get caught up on doors, walls or general objects in the enviornments, but the pathfinding of your fellow Rainbows here is really good.   What I didn't like: Death - Question. Do you like dying alot in games? If you answered 'No' then steer clear of R6V, cause your gonna die...alot. Why? Well IM...
