F.E.A.R. 2 Multiplayer Preview

Meh, looks ok, i still think killzone beats this by a long shot

aiming is too jerky for my taste. it was the same in condemned 2 with the weapons. i never played fear 1 so i dont know if it was like that then too

FEAR 2 single player looks a lot more engaging.
multiplayer is mew mew meh...

Anyone else totally unexcited for Fear 2?

Aiming DEFINITELY looks too jerky for my tastes. I think COD4 and COD:WAW ruined any other FPSs for me, the aiming isn't as fluid in any other games like it is in COD, but oh well.

Aiming is jerky because he's using a joystick to aim.

If by "jerky" you mean, highly sensitive, then you're correct. Many FPS suck with the thumbstick aiming acceleration. The Darkness was best as it not only let you individually select what x,y sensitivity, but also x,y acceleration.

This really isn't coming out at a good time. All my gaming time is about to be consumed by Street Fighter IV, Killzone 2 and The Lost and Damned, this will definitely fall through the cracks. May check it out in a few months though, looks okay. Hopefully the achievements aren't as ridiculous as those in the first F.E.A.R.

k I'm retarded, but for the first minute I was watching this I thought it was killzone multiplayer.

anyways if I pick this game up I probably won't even touch the multiplayer, I'll just play the single player.

I bet there's gonna be a lot of team killing over who gets to pilot the giant mech.

Jump kicking was one of the best things about the original FEAR and it's really unfortunate to see that it's not in the multiplayer of this game.

The multiplayer looks ok.  I just hope that the one player kicks ass.

Brad could talk about the game of the century and  it would come off as boring as cold oatmeal. The dude just sounds BORED whenever he opens his mouth! Not to knock his game knowledge and writing skills, however...

Actually quite looking forward to this. I can't see the single player having too much longevity, so a good looking multiplayer mode is a definite plus.

i doubt this has a chance when $140 is already going to Killzone 2, SF4 and GTA4 DLC.

Looks fine. I am looking forward to the single player, so I don't know if the multiplayer will be a real grabbing point.

Multiplayer looks pretty standard FPS. It's the single player that I'm interested in. And to the person(s) asking if anyone is uninterested in Fear 2, I'm very interested in it, considering the jump in quality that I've seen so far over the first game (which I thought was a pretty awesome game as well).

Looks decent and functional, but...I kind of wish they wouldn't have bothered and put more resources into singleplayer instead, because honestly, are you gonna be playing this rather than Halo, Gears, CoD, Killzone, Battlefield etc?

But then I guess people would've gone all "RAAAH!! where'z my multiplayer?!!!?" and it'd have gotten 6/10's from everyone.

Looks ok, but we all know that the multiplayer in FEAR 2 is an afterthought that few people will play after the first week.

Looks average. The only thing that looks cool is robots fighting each other.

Would look a FUCK LOAD better if they guy playing didn't MISS half the time...

And also, this game is much better in SP, so I dunno why this video is up. The MP looks great, don't get me wrong, but campaign is 10 times better.

gameplay looks quite fun, it's the envoirnments that seem mediocre.

meh, I don't really care about the MP for FEAR. Looking forward to the single player story though. :D

God the console port looks like crap. blury low res crap. it looks even worse than the port of FEAR 1.  Hell fear 1 on PC looks better than this.

dear god the hud looks absolutely atrocious.  is that a new trend now with modern-day shooters, to streamline all visual interfaces with a jarring palette of primary colors and gawdy icons?  gameplay aside, this looks like it was designed for a chimp.

Meh. This doesn't impress me at all. I am picking up FEAR 2 this week off steam, but only for the single player. This multiplayer doesn't do anything for me. In the wake of Call of Duty and now with Killzone 2 looming over the horizon, this multiplayer just doesn't look that impressive. Hopefully the single player will be much, much, much better.

I can't wait for this game. Tuesday can't come around fast enough.

Check out the MP footage on gametrailers.  It's in HD and actually has the game's audio on.  It look so much better than this.

I loved the first F.E.A.R. so I will be getting this one as well. Not for the multiplayer though.
