I have a Wii.
It sits, connected to my TV, collecting copious amounts of dust.
ive brushed it off to play some Okami and Brawl. Thasts really about it. *sigh* whats worse with the exception of what the Conduit is gonna do to show what the Wii is truly capable of (in terms of graphical finess) i dont see ANYTHING interesting on the horizon.
this is a calling to fanboys, please for the love of god, enlighten me! Get me excited about this $210 doorstop! Its crying, i can see it. I hear it in the middle of the night, looking up to big brother PS3 and Uncle 360, shedding a virtual tear at how neglected its being.
It started crying yesterday as i dug into the meagar pile of games to trade in for FarCry 2.
help me alleviate its pain...

The Nintendo Wii is a home video game console released on November 19, 2006. The Wii's main selling point was the innovative use of motion controls that its signature Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers allowed for. It became the best selling home console of its respective generation of hardware.
Anything good on the horizon?
Well, next year you have Mad World as well. This year, you have Mushroom Men and Deadly Creatures, both of which are receiving positive previews. There's also Castlevania: Judgment, but that's an iffy one that you'd have toy try, I think. Also next year is MotionPlus, as well as the possibility for the best sports games ever with it. Cursed Mountain and Fatal Frame 4 are both scarier games and are coming out in early 09 as of now. There's also Sadness, but there's no info on that one really. Just a lot of warrented unwarranted excitement, if that makes sense.
"Tenchu 4, Fatal Frame 4, Mad World, No More Heroes 2, Fragile..."Boom!

"Little King's Story!"Double Boom!
Punch-Out!! and Sin & Punishment 2 are coming from Nintendo in the first half 09. There are other good third party stuff on the horizon. Stuff already mentioned like Tenchu 4, Mad World, Little King's Story, and so on.
Not to mention some good Wiiware as of recent, like World of Goo and Megaman 9 (perfect for "hardcore" and video game masochists alike, lol).
Those are some good things coming. Just hold out a bit longer, and if you got a backcatalog of games to play (whether on wii or not), it doesn't hurt to go there as well.
"Punch-Out!! and Sin & Punishment 2 are coming from Nintendo in the first half 09.Damn, forgot about them!
Somebody please post that link to that thread on Gamespot, it makes answering a question like this easy. There are in fact some awesome looking games on the way, many in fact, although the majority come next year.
"Tenchu 4, Fatal Frame 4, Mad World, No More Heroes 2, Fragile..."Mad World does look interesting, im just worried about it being VERY short lived, y know? The novelty factor looks like it gets old in the previews, let alone in the lviing room.
Never heard of Fragile ill have to look into that one
Fatal Frame series is never one i truely got into, though maybe ill see how well it doe son the wii. The mechnaics look like it could work well.
Also, name me a good Tenchu game since the original ^^;

Actually im pretty stoked on the MotionPlus. Finally making the controller do what it was orignally intended to do in the first place. Im a fan fo the Castlevania series though, the first two on the DS were gold. Never heard of Sadness though... sounds.. sad?
Anyways im not entirely interested in WiIWare titles actually, i feel like i should keep the memory capacity for something more along the line sof save games and custom Brawl levels XD

"Sell it and invest in a good console."Actually its funny you say that, cause i do own a X360 (Pro, not elite), PS3 (80GB w/ PS2 software), the Wii, and a PC that makes Crysis its little bitch. Im covered :) Just looking for something to dust off the little neglected white hotplate ya know?

"oraknabo said:Well, the new Tenchu, and, if I'm right, it's a Wii-exclusive trilogy (because there's not enough trilogies), is being developed by the original team, and has positive previews. Sadness is made by a small polish developer NIBRIS
I am one of the few that remain positive about the game appearing eventually. A small team of five or so people looking to create a AAA game is a monumental task and one that is bound to take a while to bring to fruition with little resources. I know from speaking to those that have interviewed the developers that they are really dedicated to the project. So much so that they put the awesome looking Raid Over the River and Double Bloop on DS on hold.

This is a mixed list of games coming out and already out. If you can't find a single thing you like, this console is not for you.
You MUST play World of Goo. I can understand one's reluctancy to buy Wiiware titles, but World of Goo is among the best Wii titles, and among the best games to come out on any platform in the last five years.
World of Goo is legendarily awesome, you will not regret the purchase, trust me.
Sin & Punishment 2 was already mentioned, but I'd like to highlight it. If it's anywhere near as entertaining as the first one, you should definatly have a look at it. If it improves on the first one in terms of story & length, it might well be the top Wii game in 2009.
So far, Mad World, No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle, Spyborgs, and Wii Sports Resort are on my official list of most wanted games... although little is known about Spyborgs. Fatal Frame 4, Monster Hunter 3, Punch-Out!!, Sin and Punishment 2, and The Conduit look very promising.
2008 was a bit disappointing... the last full retail game I bought was Okami back in April. At least I had the VC, WiiWare, and my back catalog to mess around with.
These are the ones that seam interesting to me
Disaster: Day of Crisis,Okami( still need to pick it up) Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers,Madworld,Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars,No More Heroes 2,
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World( next year purchase),The Conduit,Sin and Punishment 2,Punch Out!!,Tatsunoku vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes( dunno if its comming here),
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile.
To be honest next year does a good job making up for the crappy year its been for the console, mostly this holiday line up for it.
"Why everybody's Wii is collecting dust, people doesn't clean their consoles anymore or what? Also possibly the best downloadable title out there.
I'm looking forward Punch Out, MadWorld, Little King Story, ToS2 and No More Heroes 2.
I almost forgot World of Goo, maybe the best WiiWare title."
"Wario Land came out recently, that looks amazing. You should check that out if you like Mario 2D platformers."
I would second this, even though it isn't a game coming out in the future.
Nintendo is trying my patience, but that's really nothing new.
Madworld, House Of The Dead Overkill, Punch Out!! and Sin & Punishment 2 are the releases on my radar.
My Wii hasn't been touched in quite a while either, but I'm looking forward to MadWorld. That just looks like it's gonna be freaking awesome!
A little old but I felt like tossing in my two cents.
For stuff that's on the horizon and coming up, 2009 is looking pretty good so far. People have already mentioned MadWorld, Punch Out!!, and Sin and Punishment 2. Tenchu 4 is looking alright but I'm not too excited about it just yet. I hear that the controls in Fatal Frame were horrendous so you may want to look into that.
I'm assuming that the US is going to see Disaster: Day of Crisis in 09 (also assuming you aren't in Europe where the game is already out). The Conduit is right at the top of my list of games in 2009. No More Heroes 2 would be above it but I'm pretty sure that Suda mentioned that it would be a 2010 game.
But Muramasa: The Demon Blade hasn't been getting mentioned enough and it's going to be a 2009 game.
Then there's the already released stuff that Dark Link covered VERY thoroughly. Zack & Wiki is a great puzzle game that's unfortunately been selling poorly (I hate seeing games go the Okami and Psychonauts route). The first No More Heroes is a great action game, and don't overlook something like The Godfather or Okami as just being ports. I'm personally very disappointed with Animal Crossing since it's just a mix of the DS and GameCube versions. Super Mario Galaxy still stands as the best Wii game out there, and Metroid Prime needs some more love. Boom Blox is another puzzler that's under the radar, while World of Goo and LostWinds are great low cost WiiWare games. I also found Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King very fun even if it wasn't traditional Final Fantasy.
Bolded for easier reading. :)
