The Community Spotlight - 10/17/2015

Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight and I, @zombiepie, am honored to be your host. The October video game lull is in full effect this week as bigger releases like Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Halo 5 set to drop next week. With that said there are a myriad of site related announcements worth going over this week:

• The archive for Patrick's successful completion of The Ryckoning is available on YouTube.
• Giant Bomb East is listening and open to requests for future games for their livestreams.
• Have you experienced slow download speeds for Giant Bomb content? If so please drop a comment here.
• The engineers, and jSlack, would like for you to know that they are aware of Giant Bomb livestreams cutting out!

I'm still trying to process that the Rykoning made it onto a news program. I mean, WHAT?!?!

Given that I've never heard of it, am I right in assuming that One America News Network is one of those far-right news channels for people who think Fox News is too mainstream? Regardless, someone there is clearly a Giant Bomb fan... it must've been a slow day.

Yeah, as a Chinese who majored in Japanese at college, the Chinese characters they used there is how Japanese say "bomb" instead of how we say it.

The news spot was put together by a duder who is the video editor at the news station. He posted it on GB's subreddit...

... still makes it super fucking crazy that it aired as a news story, but at least we know where it came from.

The whole SMM/Rykoning saga has to go down as one of the best arcs of the Giant Bomb anime series.

I have always used the white version of the site even since it was created. I prefer the coloring scheme to the standard version.

If the local news is willing to report on "All Your Base," and Twitch Plays Pokemon then it certainly should have time to report on the best that the Giant Bomb staff and community have to offer.

I work for One America News, and I got The Ryckoning on air.

It was a kinda slow day, and I was watching a story we were running about the pizza delivery driver going to a church and getting about $1000 in tip. And I thought if THAT was worth being on the news, then surely two guys raising $11,000+ for charity would absolutely be worth it. My executive producer is pretty cool, so she allowed it on.

I'm still annoyed that I forgot to take the lower third graphics into account when editing the video, so you can't see Mario throughout most of it, but I stayed late to do it, so I was kind of rushing.

Still felt pretty great watching all the anchors react to that on air!

That news segment is unbelievable. I can't believe they chose to use those pictures for Patrick and Dan. Great stuff all around.
