Well done America, god bless you.

In truth my estimation of the US in recent times has not been good at all, but what with this outcome to the election I can see that the majority of US citizens want positive changes, one's that will benefit their country as well as numerous others around the world.

Obama is a intelligent and responsive man, and also the very embodiment of change, I hope he gives your country and indeed the world what it needs right now.

#13 Posted by iGaboru (215 posts) -

Me being a complete and feral oppositor and hater of the politics of the US towards Latin America (especially Cuba), Africa, Middle East and South Asia Pacific, have to admit that never have I supported more an American presidential candidate than Obama. He's the only one that has given me a reason to believe that there can be a real change in your country and in your way to communicate with the rest of the world.

Congratulations and may the real change be with you guys.

It's times like this you need to realise it doesn't matter if you're black or white.

Turning point in western society as a whole in my opinion.

#22 Posted by Jezzasaurus (34 posts) -

Indeed. I live in Australia, but still watched the BBC coverage from 10 this morning through to 5 this afternoon. It makes a greater difference in this country than our own election...

Was up deep into the night watching this on BBC.

England says thank you America! :)

Wow that's kidna cool. I didn't know people in Europe cared as much about our elections as US news makes it seem. Well, from a black guy who voted for Obama, you're welcome!
#29 Posted by Sarnecki (690 posts) -

The entire world loves the shit out of Obama.  Fact.

He's the leader of the free world, and he appears not to be GWB.  Good enough.

Whaaaat? Call me crazy, but obama's job aint about fixing the world, its about fixing america. Nothing else, doing other wise would be an over steping of his bounds. Kinda like bush with iraq. And one man is not going to change the world. People dont change the world, the things we make change the world. ie the nuke. The only the man has become better at since the dawn of man, is killing each other, nothing has changed and nothing will change. And no im not a mccain supporter, i hate him just like i hate obama.

Barack is a very educated, intelligent individual, and I'm sure he will be a great leader. He will turn this country around and  not only better the reputation of our nation abroad but help reconnect us, to start caring a little more about our neighbor.

Wow, I remember seeing that "Yes We Can" music video months ago and thinking it was stupid as hell. But, for some reason, watching it now just left me speechless in a very good way. Weird...

yes i cant wait for obama to raise everyones taxes to give out more welfare, sit down and talk with terrorist to make everything nice abd turn us from capitalism to socialism. I cant wait.

#46 Posted by Milkman (16532 posts) -

You know, I was completely against all these political threads a few days ago but you know, this is now all hitting me at once. We all witnessed which will be one of the most memorable moments in the history of the United States of America. I went from all this political threads making me sick to sitting here with goosebumps right now. I think no matter if you support McCain or Obama or whoever, that this election was for America. Not for Democrats or Republicans. I think American won this election. And you know, I feel like a giant tool for saying that now. But, oh well.

#47 Posted by The_Ish (481 posts) -

I'm glad he was elected.

Also, I hope he serves American interests well.
