Could you quit videogames for a year?

I could but I have no reason to. I'd just watch more movies and listen to and make more music.

It would completely depend on what I was doing in that year. If I was traveling the world, hell yes I could stop playing games for a year. If however I was just doing what I normally do every day of my life, ugh...no way.

I probably could for the major titles and such, but not completely to the point that I wouldn't play a game on my cell phone when i'm waiting for the bus or something.

I probably could.  I essentially did it the first year of university (8 months anyways) and I can't say I completely missed it.   I guess they're just nice to have around is all...

Yes, easily actually.   I mean usually play them at least once or twice a week but a lot of times during the school year at college, it will just be a few matches of Killzone 2 on my Playstation 3, and then maybe a race or two in Burnout Paradise.

I've totally done it before.  From January '07 to June '08.  I could definitely do it again.

My PS3 got busted 2 days ago and I already ordered a new one :D. It was 2 years old and I've might have been able to replace it through some legal stuff, but it would've take some time...even weeks :D.

Playing less? sure.

Games aren't detrimental unless you let them be. In moderation, the benefits outweigh the costs. It's pretty much a fact that video games help keep your mind in shape.

I don't think I played any games during my 6-month long military service. I could probably go a full year if I was distracted enough by other things.

If I had some sort of motivation I could do anything. But what's the point in quitting? It's my hobby. I like it. Why would I quit?

I would be too bored.

Yup, done it before. All that free time can make u bananas tho, I read a ton.

Yes. I'm not  "addicted" to video games. 
 
I would have to do something else in my off-time. Aka, find a new hobby. 

why are videogames something that can be "given up".  you either play them or you don't.  if you go a year without playing them, then you just were doing other things with your life.  videogames are part of my life and i wouldn't stop playing them for anything.

Considering I'll be going through school next year to get into the industry...kinda? I'll likely be overworked and have no time for the standard stuff, but at the same time I'll be working on and testing my own projects
