Interesting. That game, "The Graveyard" looks interesting. Apparently you pay the game just to die.

Some sort of event or something? I noticed that they tossed up a bunch of indie games recently.

Just the beauty of Steam. It really helps indie devs and their games get some attention they all deserve. Look at Audiosurf, little known and now a pretty big hit thanks to Steam.

Do you like slow-paced games? If so then yes. I love The Path and it was well worth the price.

Aquaria, Everyday Shooter, Darwinia are all excellent.

I now own all of Introversion's games on Steam. I haven't played much of Darwinia, but I liked what I did play of it.
I've considered Everyday Shooter, but it's a bit of a tough sell when it's $6 more than similar games on the service. Maybe I should try out the demo.

It's not for everyone and I thought the same thing but when I played it, I was glad I bought it.

There's some kick ass games on there that I've been meaning to get for ages, so I've gone and bought Uplink, Darwinia, Aquaria, Mr. Robot, Defcon and Dangerous High School Girls.

With a few exceptions, "indie" games have yet to become "good" games.

That is extremely misinformed. There are a tonne of awesome indie games out there. There are some very mediocre ones too, but as long as you know what your looking for you'll be fine.

Most indie games people think are good, can be found in similar form for free as Flash games.

There are some indie games like this, but you just have to look atdestructoids listthat lordandrew linked to see some awesome indie games that don't have good flash game alternatives.

Infact, compare theindie gamessection of steam to the section of PopCap, who are a large corporate entity, and you'll find that the indie games are far more unique, and fewer of them have free flash game alternatives. And PopCap aren't the only company that have a library of games like that. I know indie games being unique doesn't necessarily make them good, but a lot of them are good too.

At the moment, you could even go as far as to say that indie games are the main driving force of innovation in the video games industry. While the big players in the industry are happy just releasing the same sort of things, because they know they sell well, indie devs have to do something different in order to get noticed in the market. They are trying to do new and interesting things to get people to buy their games.

I've also just bought Mevo and the Grooveriders. I played the demo, and enjoyed it, so got the full game. It's a rhythm game, and while it seems extremely simple and easy to start with, but the difficulty soon increases to a decent level.. I'm definately enjoying it so far.

Wow, there's some small-minded posters here. Indie games aren't good games - a bit of a sweeping statement don't you think?

For a start, World Of Goo and Braid are two of the best-received games of last year.

I just bought it too based on my experience with the demo and your recommendation. :)
