Having been beta testing this for awhile now, I have to say it is a most excellent piece of work compared to the old editor. So much easier and niftier to use!

Just looking at it, it seems a lot more streamlined than the previous editor. Looking forward for this to be implemented in the wiki.

Also like the fact that if I've typed something and navigate away it asks if I want to leave the page.
I literally done that on a thread someone asked about something for the PS3, I accidentally went away, then a few mins later typed something else then got that, if only I seen the thread a few seconds later.-_-

I like the added functionality but I'm not a fan of the actual look of the bar. It doesn't really fit the aesthetic of the site.

It has definitely been awesome being able to test it out for a while now and I am eager to see what the general mass thinks about it.  It is pretty damn awesome, if I do say so myself.

I just copied and pasted a joystiq article and BAM everything including the video witt size, color and links were their!

I really like it!

The light colour looks kinda weird with the black background of the site. Are there any plans to change it cosmetically? I'm sure I'll get used to it, but it's just weird the whole site being dark colours and then suddenly there's a big white slab across the screen.
 
And I LOVE that it won't let me leave the page after I've typed something in the box. The amount of times I've typed a detailed reply and as I grab hold of my mouse to move click on the post reply button, and I accidentally hit the back button on my mouse, and I lose everything. Now that won't happen again. Yay!!!!

What are the little gray lines in the bottom right of the reply box? I get a little hand icon to click on it, but it just causes the text editor to do the ....loading... thing indefinitely.

Let's keep this thread specific to bugs and feedback at the moment. Aesthetics can wait a bit till we get a better idea of how stable the new editor is. We really need bugs submitted on this so that we can clear it for the eventual move into the editor and guide tools.

I just wanna say I LOVE the way you can insert images now. So much better than the previous editor.

i noticed this earlier today when i refreshed a thread i was on and it looked different outta nowhere. i kinda like it. this along with the different quotation/reply look is awesome. seriously, more people should do the quoting that way.

Very hot

It seems to at least work better than the old one from what I've seen. It's a bit weird that when I use Indent at the beginning of an empty line it just moves the cursor to the beginning of the post. And I haven't been able to use the outdent at all as it always remains inactive. Is there a reason that the size of the bullets change when followed by a new line? Like indenting, I think the quote button should also work before typing. And it would be nice if the buttons showed when they are in an active state, especially BIU.

Thanks to the mods for helping bug test this a while back, you're testing really helped me out big time.

I'm having a bit of trouble switching text between the default Arial style and the H2/H3 styles.
 
Once text is changed to the H2 or H3 style, either by changing the style of the current line where the text is, or by highlighting the relevant text first before pressing the button, the button goes dead. I'm finding it that you need to click on the text field before the icon actually responds and changes to the 'active' state. Ideally, the icon would change automatically as soon as it is pressed, and the needless step of clicking back on the text area would be eliminated.
 

The problem arising from this is that you can't freely change between the H2/H3 style and the default, standard font. If I changed text by clicking H2 icon for instance, it would go dead and wouldn't be immediately clickable. In order to revert the text back to the default style, I would first have to click the text area for the H2 icon to change. Only then would I be able to re-select the text and click the H2 icon to revert it back to the default style.
 
This problem only seems to affect the icon when it's changing from the default, inactive state to the active state. When clicking it during the active state, it changes back to its inactive state immediately, to be pressed again if desired. However, it always gets hung up when going from inactive to active, requiring that extra click, and it gets slightly annoying. 
 
The text seems to change easily when alternating between the H2 and H3 styles, though the icons still never immediately change to their active states. So it would be nice to get that stuff sorted, but as an alternate solution or something to alongside the fix, it might be worth including an additional H1 button (or something clearly named) which could be clicked to change the selected text back to the default Arial font style.

The linking tools seems a bit busted when adding a link and then deleting it.

Will the table tool be added to the wiki text editor when you guys push that update? It would be quite usefull to solve display problems with mini character bios that have their picture on the left. Considering using the table tool for that would it not be a good idea to be able to make "invisible" table?

Very happy indeed.  (FF 3.5.1 Mac)
- Blew my mind when a relevant wiki page was auto-selected when I clicked the link icon after highlighting text

- Tables are a lot more stable.
- Box resizing works so much better than the last version.  Used to scroll off the edge all the time for me.

- Often leading spaces on newlines after a lot of editing
- A button to clear formatting is something I'm used to on WYSIWYG.  
- H2 and H3 aren't as consistent as B I U when it comes to unsetting.  It gets confused and headers can't always be unset without deleting all text through the end of the paragraph.

I find the "Do you really want to leave the page?" popup to be a little overkill. It's important to have that in the wiki section, but everywhere else it's kinda breaking a butterfly on a wheel.

It's great but I don't think it should be white.
