Okay, the following poll results make me want to throw up.

I don't see a problem. Everyday they have a new set of games up sometimes newer games sometimes older games.

None of those games deserve to be called the best game ever.

Kingdom Hearts 2 was a really lousy game.

This isn't the finals though, is it? Isn't it a huge ladder tournament thing?

If the problem is Kingdom Hearts II's mere existence on the poll, then yes, I see the problem.

If it's Shadow of Colossus not winning, that game was too clunky and ambitious for a platform that couldn't handle it to be considered one of the best games of all time. Of course, if Kingdom Hearts II deserves to be on the list, so does Shadow of the Colossus.

O_O I see the problem. The only game where you get a chainsaw, and therefore the only game that deserves to win, is gears, yet it's in last while get-your-head-chopped-off-by-a-chainsaw 4 is winning... stupid stupid people.

Give me a break, if you disagree then that's your opinion...but just because someone likes one game over another doesn't mean they're "wrong" and there definitely shouldn't be a cause for disgust.  I am curious about what you thought the results should've been...

Gamesfaqs is a website for game guides. RPGs/hard games tend to attract more people to go to their site looking for answers. They see a pole and vote.

Still not as bad as Deus Ex getting half as many votes as pokemon.

Well, nice to see most of you correctly assumed my issue was with Shadow of the Colossus' poor showing and not something else entirely.

I understand polls are for people to express their opinions, I guess my love of SOTC just caused a momentary flush of internet rage when I saw that there were actually people that preferred Kingdom Hearts II over it. I beat Kingdom Hearts II, its okay but I would classify SOTC as extraordinary so there is no question in my mind which is more worthy of the title of "Best Game Ever". Really though, I just had a pretty bad day so I decided to take out some anger on strangers who never experienced SOTC or at least failed to appreciate it.

Oh, and I prefer Burgers and Fries over Fish n' Chips as well and I don't know what Team ICO's next project is but I hope the curtain is finally lifted on it at E3.

I actually have been following the poll. The favorites are ff7 and Ocarina of Time. Earthbound got knocked out in its first bracket. Lost to Super Mario World 2 and Chrono Trigger. Each round has 4 brackets. Each round goes by a certain time range (for this one its the 4th and last bracket of 2004-2006). The top two votes for each bracket go to the next. I have never played shadow of the colossus and don't fully know what it is. But I am surprised Gears is in last.

Also some of the gamefaqs listed favorites on the site page (not the official one because the official one every single vote if ff7 or ocarina of time with the exception of one for link to the past) which have been knocked out:

Tales and Oblivion won

Mgs3 and WoW won. Surprising that Halo 2 got least.

These aren't the finalists for best game ever, if thats what you're whining about.
These are 4 games in the 2004-2006 quarter finals. Theres 16 games in each year group, heading right back to 1972. This page explains it

Oh and RE4 deserves to win that quarterfinal

If you are suggesting that RE4 doesn't deserve those votes than....I disagree!!! Sure, I though SotC was one of the best games I played on the PS2, but RE4 is probably my favorite game ever. Of course, these are all opinions, and, whaddyaknow!, this poll is just an opinion too. No shame in voting for whatever title is there....except Kingdom Hearts II ;)
