Quick Look: Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo

Dragonball always has the most annoying looking characters ever.

Dragonball was actually a watchable show. It only got stupid during DBZ.

I want to see a QL for the new Dragonball Z game for the 360. I saw a demo for it on XBL.
 
I like DB but this game doesn't look fun. Like that's a surprise though, when was the last time there was a fun DB or DBZ game?

I loved the dragon ball manga as a kid, never watch any anime or play any of the games but the dragon ball fiction has always been awesome to me, may be it's just nostalgia talking. the last time i've touch a dragon ball manga was 10 years ago.

At least its Dragon Ball and not another game with the DBZ story line in it.

They try to act cool playing the "Duh, who's that card" then they start giving out Japanese names that only fans know. Game looks fun, don't know why they are hatin on it. Also sounded like they didn't want to do the quick look in the first place, so why did they?

I like how Ryan repetitively tried to attack Yamcha while he was blinking, despite being aware of the fact he was invincible.  Everyone always seems to play terribly during QLs.  Perhaps it's even harder to play and talk than it seems.

Great idea.

I don't like how Vinny doesn't know about DB, but he's supposed to be a fan of Z.

The Tournament mode would definitely need a custom-made storyline that revolves around Master Roshi getting hit by a car in a parking lot and there is a six-week long tournament to find the fighter to battle the person who ran down Roshi.

I used to watch it when i was young but i barely remember any of it, something about how you need all the dragon balls to be granted a wish and having a tail can randomly turn you into a giant ape

I'm so glad Jess shut Ryan down with the "it's for kids" argument. We ALLLL played games as kids and we didn't need to be talked down to. Why do we try to talk down to kids now? As though they can't POSSIBLY understand our "mature serious adult" games

I like how in the Dragon ball universe it's never explained why there are a bunch of different species of animal men and dinosaurs still exist.

I want to get stuff wrong about the series too.  So as it turns out, Bulma was the daughter of the boss of the Red Ribbon army and that old guy was really Piccolo's older brother who came back to get revenge after Goku killed the original Piccolo and the old dude had a higher level of transformation than his brother.  That dude with the red hair was really Goku's real dad who got separated from him when Goku was taken aboard an alien spacecraft and implanted with that tail so that whenever there was no moon in the sky, he would turn into a Super Sayan.  The guy with the blue hair was really Roshi's son who is also the dad of Yamcha, and Roshi eventually gives Yamcha (his grandson) all those scars because he killed his dad (Roshi's son).  Then, Tien transformed all the animal-men in the world into one being, which he named Chautsu, the one who eventually sacrifices himself so Goku could learn the Spirit Bomb.  I feel better now.

Piccolo, as a name, either reminds me of pickles (dude was green) or the instrument.  
 
I guess this is how a native Japanese speaker feels when an English speaker just makes up a Japanese-sounding word to sound cool.

Hoooolyyyy shit.  I knew Jeff had blonde hair at one time, but check Ryan out at ~5:00.  That is freakin' me out, man. "

I think Vinny was getting Dragonball confused with Dragonball Z.  The game looks less than average, but that's nothing new for the franchise.  Naruto fares only slightly better than DB gams in quality which is a sad commentary on all anime inspired video games.  Of course, the same is often true about most comic and movie licensed games.
