Quick Look: Dungeons of Dredmor

I was really considering getting this. I know its not expensive, its my time I'm worried about.

Only gb would cover this game, also hardcore Dave FTW

Old school dungeon crawler.  Looks pretty good.  I like stuff like this.

I just realized the main menu art is an homage to Doom.

Nethack is still the king. I really hate the humor of this game. It's the worst kind of stupid, 4channy internet humor. Nethack had some referential humor, but it was intelligently done even when it was stupid.

Reminds of Azure Dreams...only with more pop-culture/internet meme jokes. Those I could take or leave, but the game itself looks really fun.

I love the skilltree stuff, and I'm smoothly getting into this genre via Shinen/Izuna/PMD, but wow I really do not like the look of this game.

This game is silly and fun. I"m not sure I could ask for more for $5

How come the term, "Rogue-like" become widely adopted, but for no other game? We don't call Okami or Beyond Good & Evil or Sphinx & the Cursed Mummy "Zelda-likes", y'know? I find it very odd.
 
Any way, glad to see some weird, obscure indie PC games on the QLs again! This is what I come to Giantbomb for! Wish they'd hunt out more obscure games for all services. Maybe do a QL for a Playstation Mini sometime or something. Maybe pull in the Nintendownload X-Press and look at an eShop game or two, yeah?

Better is the Avernum series. Not a rogue like though.

This game is fantastic.  

I think i'm going to sunk several hours in this.
 
I had to try it out becouse of this QL and it's awesome to play. 
didn't expect it to be so good, but hey, money well spend.

That guy should use some sort of magic or blade to shave his eyebrows.

@vinsanityv22: "GTA clone" is still a pretty common term. "Doom games" were used for FPS' a lot too, before things like Goldeneye.

Bought it after watching this quicklook. Really awesome game. Even more awesome when you take into accounts it's only $4.99. Bloody ridiculous. Hope these guys do well.

The lack of variety in your character's appearance bothers me until I remember that I've played this game for more than 20 hours and it only cost $5.

Oh God. I really wish I had picked this up on the Steam Sale now.

@ObsideonDarman: It's definitely worth it now with all the improvements to it that they did with the Diggle God expansion, hideously funny in many ways. GLHB!

Is this the earliest mention of "Rogue-like" on GB? Of course Dave would be here for it!
