Something about the graphics and animation looks dated. Otherwise it looks awesome.

This was a series that I felt could hit the nail on the head with a sequel. The first game introduced so much new stuff, and did so much right (which a lot of people fail to give it credit for), but it definitely didn't completely find its feet.

Hopefully, with ACII, they take the framework of everything they did right and replace/flesh out everything they failed to do with the first one.

This is the first I've seen of the 50 year span element.  That's pretty badass.

Graphics dont look that good to me but they'll do, as long as they make the gameplay more interesting than the first.

@G0rd0nFr33m4n: I thought of that as well.  Someone in the photoshop thread needs to make one of these now.  Also @niall077: What game are you talking about?  MW2?  This is AC2.

With a team as huge as they have for this, I'm surprised how awful the animation (particularly the facial animation) looks in cutscenes.  I expected more polish from a AAA title from Ubisoft.

Meh. It looks like they're doing the cutscenes in engine, which makes it much harder to ramp up the fidelity of the animation. Looks fine to me, but then I'm a big ol' Assassins Creed fanboy. Can't wait.

it really sounds like they've improved much of this game. i am excited for it.

it was kind of weird a few months ago i was thinking that this year had been and was going to continue to be a pretty stale year for games. but now with the release of Uncharted, Borderlands this and MW2, the year is shaping up to be anything but.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it will affect gameplay (which actually looks pretty slick so far), but the bar's been raised for facial animation by games like GTA and Brutal Legend (which I mention because their cutscenes are also in-engine and their gameplay is also open-world).  This is the type of title that sounds like it has the budget for polish, given the enormous team working on it.

Graphically it doesn't look as nice as the first game, but as long as the gameplay is what they claim, then it'll be far superior.

But, sarcastically, I love the development team doing all the interviews in a Gothic style church. They have almost nabbed the award from me for what I feel is the cheesiest thing in gaming. Currently their Cathedral Interview is just shortly behind the Marilyn Manson theme song for Dragon Age: Origins. If Ubisoft continues doing the, "We take ourselves way too seriously" interviews though, I feel like they will win the award hands down.

Game itself looks pretty good. Graphics looks pretty bad. I just played the first AC recently, and even taking video compression into account, it still seems like it looks WAY better than the things I'm seeing in these videos.

Also, when are skippable cutscenes going to be announced?

Looks good, love the ending with the bard singing about Ezio. :-)

The graphics don't look spectacular but it's deffinatly a different art style from AC1.  It's not just bland looking buildings and people dressed in pessant robes.

Facial animations don't look that hot in this one. Anyway, I'm still excited for the story and I hope the gameplay has significantly improved over the first AC. I guess we'll know soon enough.

You're basing that off of a low-quality internet video. I can assure you this game will look at least as good as the original and most probably better.

I don't get it, how old is he meant to be then? When he's younger he couldn't really pass for anything under 18, so in 30 years he'd be almost 50. Are we supposed to believe a 50 year old dude is free running across the rooftops of Venice?

I like the fact that the weapons armour and fighting capabilities gets better as you progress through the game, it will probably keep the game-play fresh and interesting for longer than its predecessor.
Graphics wise : I don't have any complaints as long as the facial animations on the main characters in cut-scenes are emotive and actually follow the dialogue to some degree.

Overall a definite purchase for me.

I wonder if the armour will actually effect your movement like being able to run and climb as fast or if it's just a stat thing.

there's probably a prologue of Ezio at 8, then a section of him at 18, one at 28, and an epilogue of him as a hobbled old 38-year-old with a cane.
