    Platform »

The Nintendo Wii is a home video game console released on November 19, 2006. The Wii's main selling point was the innovative use of motion controls that its signature Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers allowed for. It became the best selling home console of its respective generation of hardware.

If Wii Sports wasn't bundled with the Wii, would you buy it?

Before answering this question don't think how fun Wii Sports is now, but how fun it was the first time you played it.

Personally I think I would buy it. Because it wouldn't sell at full price and its one of the few games on the Wii that uses the motion controls well!

Eh, probably not. It was too shallow. If it was like $25, sure.

At launch I would have, now I wouldn't unless it was cheap or came bundled with something.

definitly i still play that for baseball or bowling. The bowling game probably has the most depth than any other bowling game out there ever. It feels pretty close to real life. I have played wii sports more than any other game on the wii, great multiplayer. After your mario zelda and metroid games wii sports is next best thing.

Yeah. I might not have got it straight away if it was full price, but I would've eventually crumbled and bought it.

I might would've still bought Wii Sports, it is quite an entertaining package. For those who might don't have a lot of friends and family, Wii Sports probably isn't worth the investment.

No, unless it was ridiculously cheap, like $10 or something and even then i would have many doubts.

Absolutely not. Wii Sports is satisfactory in the realm of tech demos, but as a game it is inferior in regards to content, technology, and overall value.

Probably yes because, at the time, there weren't many games to choose from for the Wii.

Heck yes, and I would not even care about full price to be completely honest. I have put way to many hours into that game getting pro with everything I could to not justify purchasing it. I brought my Wii down to the dorm this weekend for the sole purpose of playing it when I had no time for any other game.

If it was $20, maybe. Otherwise, no chance. Though, even though Wii Sports isn't all that deep, it is still one of the most fun and addictive games on the Wii.

    HOLY CRAP... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Not even for $2.  For example, if they put it up on WiiWare at launch, not even for $2, maybe for $1 I'd do it.

No. I may have felt differently if the game had online play, but otherwise I can only see it being played by people who have friends who come over often. Hence, not me.

Not if it was full price, but Nintendo seems to be more than willing to put games like Wii Sports with some new peripheral bundled in which is more than likely what would have happened.

I can't help but find it just a tad funny that people are saying "Well, I wouldn't buy it if it was $50."

Do you actually think that's even possible? Wii Play is $10 (excluding price of remote)!

If it was $10, yeah, I would buy it when I first got my Wii.
I probably still would now. Not necessarily because I love the game, but because if I have somebody over at my house, a middle-aged person, showing them Wii Play or Brawl, or even Kart for that matter, wouldn't really work out that well.

I like Wii Sports because anybody can pick it up and play and have a fun time - in a group. It's probably the best game that I can think of to demonstrate the console to somebody that is not a gamer, nor tech-savvy.

[Please excuse the garbledness of the last bit. I'm tired.]

I might if it were comparably priced, 10 or 15 dollars. As a launch title and the biggest launch tech demo, I'd say it would have gone at too stiff a price though.

I wonder how many people who have a Wii in Japan bought Wii Sports as well? In Japan Wii Sports doesn't normally come with the console. This might answer your question a little.

I would have bought Wii Sports regardless. Shame that the left handed mode in that game isn't as good as it could be.
