The Community Spotlight 2020.02.02

Nothing feels like eternal doom quite like being indebted to a tanuki.

Hello and welcome to yet another edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight and I, @zombiepie, am once again happy to be your host this week as we look back at the best creative endeavors from the community! It's been a slow week as we hit the dregs of the post-Christmas "Winter Game Drought." I have to say, as someone who has been following games for as long as I could remember, this drought, as well as the "Summer Game Drought," has been an industry-wide issue since the dawn of time. Which is why I personally have to dismiss politely any notions that Giant Bomb's content is slowing down. THERE JUST AREN'T MANY NEW GAMES COMING OUT! That aside, the community has been as active as ever, and before we jump into that, let's address the handful of site-related items worth mentioning.

  • As some of you have noticed, Giant Bomb will not be present at PAX East this year. That should not stop you from having fun at the convention or thinking the amount of content coming from the site will be slowing down any time soon!
  • The bug some users encountered earlier this week related to the horizontal scroll being too wide on the front page has been resolved. If you are still encountering issues, please report it using this link.
  • @fobwashed created a fun application for anyone who frequents Giant Bomb Infinite: SaltyBomb! As they explained on Twitter, it allows you to bet on stuff in Giant Bomb Infinite. It's still being tested, but if you follow them on Twitter, you can be on top of updates and the next time they plan to host betting events!

I saw an animation on Youtube featuring Doomguy walking into a game store to buy Animal Crossing followed by an Animal Crossing character buying Doom Eternal. Guess 3.20.20 is becoming a bit of a meme.

Also, it's still much better than the trap crap they put the most recent trailer
