PSP 2: The Rumor That Wouldn't Die

thanks brad, now i know to get a dsi now, and save up for a psp 2......that is if it happens, which im hoping because it looks pretty awesome

This has to be a joke. Download only games? Touch screen that slides up to reveal a mini PS2 controller? And I doubt the system could pull of the graphics demonstrated in the pics.

It looks good, but I am happy with my own PsP.

If this does come out, I'm getting one.

These constant PSP 2 rumours are getting funny.

What can they do with it? More powerful will just lead to even more console ports insetad of unique portable games.

This sounded great and fantastic to me until I got to the part about being download only, and that one feature means I'm even less likely to buy this thing than the original PSP.

I don't know about this whole digital download-only games. I prefer to have a physical copy of a game. I wonder if it will have a hard drive to save all those downloaded games or will use Memory Stick duo etc.

Christ, something like that would be bloody uncomfortable to hold. Especially with those analoge sticks in that cockeyed position.

If that's what the actual PSP 2 looks like, then I'm totally in.

I also saw those pics a while back... but they're by far the most convincing of the fakes.

That concept art is fanmade in photoshop and IS OH GOD SO OLD. But yeah I'm pretty sure this info is legit though.

It does have Advance Wars....in the form of Field Commander.

the only problem with the psp is that it doesnt have adavance wars.

Seriously. When I saw the picture I thought, that looks pretty cool, but then I saw the screen and I pictured scratches all over it.

I hate the thought of having to protect that screen.

When will SONY finally announce PSP2?

I dunno what to think of that concept art. Part of me says it would make a really bad ass mod in an turbo charged import. The other part of me says "no," just "no."

Also, I think having a DL only service to get the games is stupid, because it severely limits use for people such as myself with capped internet.

Sliding screens suck. Flip-ups ftw.

And why, why, why would the world need a successor to the PSP. I have had mine since launch and the one thing that it is missing is fun.

Hmm, the PSP-3000 just hit Amazon.ca and I'm about ready to buy a PS3 soon.  Waiting until E3 sounds okay.

The screen on that thing has a death wish.  The current PSP's screen is really easy to scratch, but this thing...

GODDAMN. That thing looks so badass.

This design looks pretty sexy, but I can't see it feeling good in your hands. If the screen were to get in the way of the shoulder buttons... Who knows, btu I doubt this is what the final product is gonna look like whenever they do release this.

Also, sony should give up on the UMD. They won with the Blu-Ray, can't they concede this one small failure.

The price will be sky high but it will be worth every penny if I can have a phone, mp3 player, video player, and handeld video game in ONE package. This is exciting for me!

I wish all these anonymous sources would shut up. Pretty or not, if this was true the timing for releasing a new handheld (and an expensive-looking one at that) is horrible.

This would be a great, I still like my psp even though it's slowing down in sales as there arn't many games coming out for it, the new resistance is awesome and would be even better with a dual analog function.

I'm staying away from PSP had a bad time with it. I'll stick with Nintendo's handelds.

Wow if that rumor is true, I'm fucking selling my DS, my mp3 player and my soul to get one!

the real issue is, does anyone even want a psp2 right now? i mean resistance and patapon 2 just came out, and dissidia and kingdom hearts are coming out in the future, and that new jak game was  just announced. in other words, it looks like the psp will do just fine this year. that said, if the psp2 does launch this year, i'll be out there with all of the other crazed game fans to buy it on day one as long as it's backwards compatible. i am just too weak to resist the allure of a new system launch.
