Do we want smaller breasts on our game characters?

However, it would seem that technology has finally caught up, thus bringing the uncanny valley a little closer to full realization. The Onion reports that a breakthrough has been made in the form of the Vex9, a graphics card which makes it possible to render average-sized breasts on female video game characters.

"For too long, game designers have been creatively stymied by a mammary-imaging technology only capable of rendering one type of breast—a heaving pair of massive, gravity-defying, torpedo-shaped bosoms," says Warren Hood, the card's developer. He adds, "At long last, we can give die-hard gamers the level of realism they've been looking for." 

Sadly, however, The Onion has no images nor videos of the new breast-rendering technology in action.

If they want to take my massive gravity defying bosoms from me, they'll have to pry them from my cold dead hands...not my actual bosoms...and I'm not implying that I would be feeling myself up...umm...this conversation has taken a turn...I'm gonna go now.

I say if they make the boobs big, at least give them some purpose. Combat, maybe? (I could not find the SuperJail clip I wanted for this post.)

I like Asian women. So I'm all for bumps on the road. It's about the face. Not the nipples. Unless they are pancake nipples. Then we have a problem.

NO! Larger, LARGER, LARGER! They will never be large enough not even when the women can no longer walk and are forced to roll around on their own gigantic bosoms.

How about variety?  Some large boobs, some small ones, some of average size, shape, and bounciness.

TBH, I kind of fell a little uncomfortable when I notice character breasts - that isn't natural, they are cartoons!  It  is funny in fighting games where you create characters, just how ridiculous you can make the women.  Funny and a bit off.

Ivy's breasts are disgustingly large - they're like that one insane vegas showgirl with FFF breasts (or whatever they are) that are each twice the size of her head. Grossly misshapen, not sexy.

I want smaller breasts on my male video game protagonists. As I was running away from the cops in Bohan, I couldn't help but thinking "God, Niko, put a damn bra on next time! Yeesh!"

Personally, I don't mind if they're smaller. I don't care if they're a little big, but I don't want them to be grossly exaggerated like Ivy's, for instance.

Uhhh... It really only disturbs me if they are unnaturally large (i.e. All Team Ninja Girls and Ivy), which combined with exaggerated physics and skimpy/tight outfits make me feel like a misogynist or a pervert when I play those games. Maybe it has to do with uncanny valley?

Sure, they could be smaller, but that is too much to expect from developers who are aiming towards the 18-34 year old male demographic. So I fully expect Team Ninja to continue to make FF cup women in their games with water ballon physics despite the loss of Itagaki, and I also really don't expect much from anyone else either.

I think younger girls shouldn't have big boobs.  Older women should have big ones, that's what I think.

It seems more of an eastern thing, doesn't it? I don't think they'll be changing that any time soon. I do know that I'm not immediately drawn to a game because of ridiculous boobs.

While this boob thing doesn't really bother me personally either way, I will argue two things:

1) As far as giant boobs go, Itagaki did them right.
2) They should give all men ridiculous, almost painful- looking bulges to make up for any offended feminists.

I, as with many other males, like breasts but I think there's a limit to how big they should be and many games today just go way past that to the point where the characters aren't attractive and just look wrong.

Eastern thing? What about the trend starter, Tomb Raider? Yeah.

Anyway, there are smaller chested ladies to play as in Soul Calibur. Pick them if you don't like big ones. Xianghua used to be my favorite as she was similar to Xiaoyu, another small chested chick but from Tekken this time. There's not some universal size every game and character has in order to so generally ask "should we shrink them" or something along those lines. There are plenty of games and characters without big boobs, if you only recall or take note of the games and characters with them, well, I'd say that means you like them >_>

As we all know, ridiculously short skirts are the new ridiculously large breasts.

Hey if the female gaming community wants a more realistic representation of the female form in video games. Then the same can only be said for male characters. No more shirtless Dante, no more buffed up Chris 'big guns' Redfield and certainly no more fighting games with half-naked-six-pack-ripped-muscle male characters.
