I've been on dozens of forums throughout the last 12 years I've been on the net under dozens of aliases. But yea, I spent time on Gamespot among many others. I've spent way more time on other forums than Gamespot's forums though.
The idea that people can be residents of one place on these united internet is just creepy you nerds. If you're asking where I heard about giantbomb, who even remembers that it's been so long. I remember following Jeff's story for a while, I'd never had an interest in gamespot or its staff but I was vaguely aware of Jeff, having been into gaming and wise to reviews for longer than I care to share, and Jeff's story was a pretty interesting topic at the time.

never really got into posting much though, only went for the news and on the spot oh and podcasts here and there :) giantbomb seems like it will have a very good community :)
as others have said, i followed gb pretty close, listened to the arrow podcasts and checked out the blogs.
I ended up finding the site through Jeffs blog a few months ago. I'm astounded by the amount of people that have already made it here. The Bombcast made sure the community stayed put over the last few months I think but now I expect this site is receiving a stupid amount of hits.
So, I haven't really stopped going to these places, but I visit IGN and GameFaqs often. I never like Gamespot. The site is extremely ugly to me, and usually, if the site is ugly, so is the content. And from what I've heard, it's pretty ugly.
GameSpot..............packed up last night and trucked on over as soon as I got the email saying the site was up. (Singing the theme to "The Jeffersons") "moving on up............"
I used to go to Gamespot pretty regularly, even had one of the paid subscriptions. The day the whole Gerstmann gate thing happened, I canceled my account, haven't been back much at all since. In between leaving Gamespot and Giant Bomb launching, I've read a lot of Kotaku and Joystiq.
I feel bad for Gamespot a little bit. It used to be in my reading roster and on my podcast roster - now - all gone. It's a real shame, was one of the few sites out there with a really good community feel.
I came from Gamespot. I never spent too much time in the forums but I was a big fan of the work that Jeff and Ryan did after Rich left. When they left, the only people I still had hope in were Brad and Vinny so to have all four of them here is amazing. Congratulations on the site launch guys and here's to many, many years of an awesome site.
I stopped going to GS earlier this year because all the interesting people left. Some how all my favorites from GS (except for Alex) ended up here. :) But now with what the site looks like I don't care who the personalities are. I still will listen to the BombCasts but this site just rocks.
Like many of us, I came from Gamespot where I first heard Jeff, Ryan, Brad and Vinny on the Hotspot. This site is awesome. TELL YOUR FRIENDS, WHEN OUR POWER IS STRONG ENOUGH, WE TAKE OVER THE INTERNET!
