Has a game ever made you cry?

Answering my own question, No, I have never cried at a videogame. (I am dead inside) :P
That's not to say I haven't almost cried at a game.
Those games were FF7 (Obvious reasons), Persona 4 (Ending and one specific scene) and MGS4.

I'm sure theres plenty other ones that I have missed but those are the ones that spring to mind.
Now, who here has ever cried or almost cried (For the manliest of you) at a game? (Be considerate with spoilers)

Big Riggs: Over the Road Racing made me cry a little bit.

Haven't even come close so far. Of course, I've never played the games people bring up that have brought them to tears or strong emotions: FF7, MGS4, Shadow of the Colossus to name a few.

No, but several games have come close to doing so. Games like:

• FF6 (oddly enough, not when Celes wanted to die)
• FE4 (this)
• DQ4 (obvious)

Wont be the first or the last to say this but Aeris death choked me up. That's as close as I come to outright bawling, even the saddest or most uplifting of movies etc only ever choke me up and bring a tear to my eye I never audibly 'cry' or bawl.

But yeah, Aeris, possibly the girlfriends death scene in The Darkness I dont remember, I think maybe I was angry instead of sad. Other than that I don't think theres been anything at all.

Oh wait, possibly Lost Odyssey at some point. Don't remember.

Didnt cry but got very emotional, maybe some tears included, during Half-Life 2 and its episodes.

I might have shed a tear or two playing Lost Odyssey.

I cried while playing lots of games when I was little. Mainly because I sucked at them.

Elite Beat Agents, the level with the girl's dead father.

Only games that have made me cry are MGS2 (when Emma Emmerich dies) and MGS4 (just the whole ending in general hit me pretty hard).

Braid nearly made me cry out of frustration.

No i havent cried because of a video game.

I think I probably would have cried during GTAIV if I hadn't been desensitized from all the killing; I think the ending and story was good enough to make one cry.

Nope. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and Persona 4 came close though.

This is a cliche but Aeries death in FFVII made me cry. :(

MGS4, so close. So close.

Not that I can remember, some have made me pretty sad, but never to the point of crying...

MGS2 and MGS4.

Like guys have said before, I came close with MGS4.

More than a few games have caused me to get misty-eyed, but the only games I think I can say actually made me cry were Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 3, and Metal Gear Solid 4. At least, those are the only ones I can remember at the moment.

The ending to Crisis Core was probably the closest to making me shed some tears.

So we can all agree. Metal Gear Solid is the most emotional game series of all time and shall be held in the highest regard and closest to having video games as a form of art.

Nope. Never have. Although I've cried during a movie before. Don't ask.

Ha, of course not. I only cry over things that happen in my own life, not the fake lives of virtual characters.

I came pretty close in Metal Gear Solid 4, around the ending. Snake was just so darn depressing. I did, however, actually cry in Persona 4 on December 3rd, and in the ending of both Shadow of the Colossus and Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core.

One of the Brain Training games made me cry. Yeah. Well it said my brain age was like 55. To be fair, I was also having a REALLY bad day.

I would have to say Final Fantasy X-2. When Yuna was singing that song on Thunder Plains. Basically when she was having memories of a guy that looks like Tidus because of her dressphere. That hit me good.

And Metal Gear Solid 4. When Snake wanted to kill himself. I was thinking don't end it like that. It's sad.

I cry at a lot of things xD Games though....uhh...FFX, MGS4..FF7, probably most of all Lost Odyssey (even cried reading some of the memories, a little kid dying? im sure they were intending to make me cry. xD)  

Most of the Final Fantasy games are the ones that have evoked heavy emotion out of me, with FFVII being the clear top one. There are some others as well, such as Shadow of the Colossus and Kingdom Hearts when Sora and Kairi couldn't be together. And this may be kind of pathetic, but when Bentley the turtle was (SPOILERS) crippled at the end of Sly 2, I came very close to a single tear running down my 14-year old cheek.

Also, I've only watched The Last Guardian trailer and I'm already balling my eyes out for what's inevitably gonna happen to that creature. Please make me ball my eyes out Team ICO, make me cry like I've never cried before.

When Emma Emmerich died in Metal Gear Solid 2 I cried.

When I collected all of the Orbs in Crackdown and I didn't get my achievement... that was... emotional. 

I've gotten "choked up" during games, but never to the same point of emotion as I have with some movies.  Oddly enough, I don't cry over things in real life.

I cried when I was a kid and certain games were too hard. I don't think I've ever cried out of emotional response, just out of anger.

Closest I've been was when a certain person died in Half Life 2: Episode 2. I think Half Life is the only "story-driven" franchise I've played, so I haven't had many of those moments.

when i was little i can remember getting really frustrated with my Sega Genesis games and throwing tantrums when i got game overs.

Huh, Persona 4's ending was a happy one, well it still is sad.


But atleast it's not like Persona 3's ending.
Also, a game has never made me cry.

MGS3's ending almost had me split a tear, but FF6 really had me crying during some of the story moments (Cyan's are a good example, Also, i was 8 when i last played FF6...so take it how you will). Other than that..no game has ever managed to make me dig into it that much.

F4 I'd never played it, and did so for the first time on the DS, and when Porom and Palom turned into stone to save Cecil =(

Vampire: Bloodlines almost made me cry during the whole ordeal with Heather Poe.

But you've never played it though, nor shall you. Bastard.

MGS3 came close.

That's it though.

Nope, but the most "emotional" I've gotten with a game was probably Braid.
