How many "unopened" games do you currently have in your backlog?

My backlog of games has gotten out of control lately, mostly with used game purchases, such as Dragon Age: Origins, Left 4 Dead 2, and Bayonetta. I have also come across some excellent deals on new games, most recently, I bought Bioshock 2 a few months ago when Amazon had the game on sale for $20, but Bioshock 2 still sits on my game shelf in its original packaging, while newer games like Fallout: New Vegas have come out and already seen roughly 15 hours of playtime. 
 
So how many "unopened" games do you currently have in you backlog?

None. I buy games that I want to play. I never understood the concept of buying games and not even opening them.

I used to be really good about playing and completing the games i would buy, but the recent addition of my first child (much less time for gaming) and rapid decrease in game prices lately (many more impulse purchases) have resulted in my backlog growing. The number of games that I have not even seen the title screen for is disgusting.

I have a backlog but i have at least opened them and played them all at some point

Unopened/Sealed Games

I buy a lot of games. Too many perhaps, because I have a lot of games that I've simply never opened. They sit on the shelf in their shrinkwrap, constantly taunting me. But I will get to them some day. Some day...
 
Note: This game only includes games that are still in their original packaging. It does not include games that I opened but never played, nor does it include used games that were opened before I got to them.

	1. Ar tonelico II: Melody of Metafalica I'm not sure why I even bought this.
	2. Baroque It seemed like a good idea at the time.
	3. Battalion Wars I have a confession to make: I've never actually played any of the Advance Wars games.
	4. Dai Senryaku VII Exceed I found this one in the bargain bin, and decided I had to buy it because the title was in Japanese.
	5. ESPN NHL 2K5 They were selling it brand new for $3. I couldn't resist.
	6. Eternal Poison Pre-ordered this in hopes of receiving whatever pre-order bonus they were offering, but I think they had already sold out of them. Oh well.
	7. Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard I'm still undecided on whether I should pick up the first Etrian Odyssey game first.
	8. Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City ...
	9. Final Fantasy XII I now own two copies of Final Fantasy XII, and I'm not sure why. I don't even like the game that much!
	10. Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon Oh yeah! I forgot I have this. It will have to wait until I beat Fire Emblem on the Game Boy Advance.
	11. GrimGrimoire I haven't beaten Odin Sphere, I haven't played GrimGrimoire, and I don't own Muramasa. I get progressively worse with every Vanillaware game.
	12. Gunpey The PSP version specifically. No, I don't own a PSP. Shut up!

	15. Namco Museum I got this one as part of a bundle with some other Game Boy Advance game, and have yet to open it.
	16. NeoGeo Battle Coliseum I'm not even sure if I like SNK's style of fighting games.
	17. Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword I was impressed by the demo I played, but I have yet to open up my copy.
	18. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice For All This is the only Phoenix Wright game that I own. I have to get a copy of the first game and beat that first.
	19. Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando I still haven't beaten Ratchet & Clank. I know, I'm working on it. But once I do, I have a lot of sequels ahead.
	20. Rogue Galaxy A Level 5 RPG always warrants a purchase, even though the only Level 5 game I've actually beaten is Professor Layton.
	21. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2 - Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon Raiho Special Edition #32492
	22. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES I haven't heard great things about The Answer, but I still want to play through The Journey again.
	23. Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier Same situation as with Original Generation 2...
	24. Super Robot Taisen Original Generation 2 Once I beat the first SRTOG, then I'll open this one up and start playing it. But not until then.
	25. Taito Legends I own the Xbox version of Taito Legends, but no Xbox.
	26. Viewtiful Joe 2 Still need to beat the first game. And then if I'm still in the mood for pain I'll go onto this one.
	27. Viewtiful Joe: Red Hot Rumble
	28. Wild Arms 4 I'm not a huge fan of Wild Arms 3, but Wild Arms 4 is a very different game and may be worth a shot.
	29. World in Conflict I got this one during a 2007 boxing week sale. It won't run on my computer though, so I have yet to touch it.
	30. X-Men: Legends II - Rise of Apocalypse

I usually don't buy games unless I plan on playing them immediately.

Metroid: Other M, not sure how far I've gotten. A little bit.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep: Just started playing yesterday, these usually hold my attention all the way through.

None. I tend to open them and least give them a quick whirl when I have a new game added in. Plenty of games I've got at the ready to complete for the first time, though. Yakuza 3, Assassins Creed 2, Wolverine Origins and soon Deadly Premonition. RDR's multiplayer doesn't want to share..

I don't have a lot but I do have a couple here and there from sales that I couldn't resist:

I always open any game I buy, because I like to look through the manual.

I had some, but then I opened them all, because I thought I'd be more likely to play them. Still unplayed, but hey, they're opened! Let's see... John Woo's Stranglehold, FEAR, Resident Evil 5, Prince of Persia (rented, bought, haven't played my version for this and RE5), The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. That's it. Now if I was to include games I haven't played enough of, the list would be much greater.

The only game still in it's packaging is Gungrave Overdose. I do have quite a few opened games that I have yet to put in. A bunch of DS RPGs, Dragon Age Origins: Awakening and Blue Dragon to name a few.

Lots of them. At least 30 physical PC games (including some that have remained unopened for more than 6 years - like the Commandos series of games), more than 30 Steam and GOG (digital) games, probably around 5 PS2 games (including We Love Katamari, The Red Star, Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2 and Final Fantasy X-2) and two Game Boy Advance games - RebelStar and  Phantasy Star Collection.

I buy all my games on sales and in bargain bins - that's why.

Oh, and having a back catalogue of games and movies means you have a good reason to post-pone killing yourself for a while.

I've never bought a game and then not played it (except for that time I accidentally bought Ragdoll Kung-Fu, which I was none too happy about), but I only played like a level and a half of Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, and yet still intend to go back and play it, so that's about the closest thing I've got to it.

Dead Rising Case Zero if that counts, since I bought it but never played it.

None.  Even with Steam games I'll download them right away and play a few minutes.  I don't see how people do this, but I have a friend who bought some games years back for >$40 that sell for less than $10 now and he never opened them.

None.  I love gamefly and used game trades.

The word "backlog" implies that you actually intend to play them again at some point.  I only have games that I either like a lot and have beaten, or games I don't really care about and will never play again.  So I don't have a backlog...just some games I lost interest in and have stopped foolishly pretending that I will ever get back into.
 
And no unopened games...a couple steam games that were part of a bundle that I never played, but I didn't buy the bundle for those games.

Man, I wish I had enough disposable income to be able to buy things and not play them. I play every game I buy.
