    best game of 2008 0

Some people say fallout 3 was the game of the year but they were dead rong the honour belonged to the 11//10 GTA IV The game play is similar to other gtas but with a cover system ala the crappy Gears of War and social life side activity The story holds up to a film like Godfather of Scarface.  The missions vary from a bank heist to missions where u can kill or spare a character. and 2 endings awesome. i havent completed 100%  yet but the game i keep coming back 2 this is the true crime godfather...

    Ant1ive - GTA 4 1

Grand Theft Auto 4 takes us through the trials and tribulations of a man that goes by the name of Nico Bellic as he fights his way through the creative and crazy streets of Liberty city. This game was well designed (by none other than Rockstar) and basically perfect aside from a few glitches and frequent loading times. This review will be broken down into 4 parts: sound, presentation, gameplay, and, online play. SoundThroughout the series' history, GTA has always had a jampacked arsenal of songs...

Come in and experience the underground of Liberty City. 0

Grand Theft Auto 4 is surely not a usual game, it was ambitiously executed since the beginning and offers a lot to the player. The game mechanics aren't usual either, you have arguably more freedom in what you're allowed to do or not than any other game. Adding an incredibly engaging story that stands as one of the most convincing ever created along with interesting characters with strong personality and realism, making this an incredible gaming achievement. If you're not familiar with the GTA-ki...

Lost and Goddamn! Save Point Review. 0

Rockar Reinvigorates GTA with the Lost and the Damned. 0

So I just finished the Lost and the Damned. Yes, simple as that, but I must say it was AWESOME. Which is quite a surprise because I could not stand to finish GTA IV because of the repetitive missions, and your annoying friends, it seemed that every time you were about to do something fun, Roman would call up and would state that you and him don't spend enough time together, and that you guys should go see some American titties. Of course I'd say no because I'm about to jump off a freakin'...

BUH-ruther Hood, a Lost and Damned Review. 0

So I downloaded the first of the exclusive DLC for the 360, The Lost and Damned, and i gotta say it's pretty good. The episode stars Johnny Klebitz, the Vice President of the Alderney Chapter of The Lost MC, that was briefly in GTA IV. My overall playtime with Lost and Damned was way shorter than GTA IV and I actually like the more focused narrative. I also liked Rockstar's decision not emphasizing the friend social network this time around. Makes sense since Johnny has already establish...

    Great, but not Amazing 0

Dont you just love GTA?  Everyone does but how good is GTA 4?  Once you boot up the game you  play as Niko Belic an immigrant who just got off the boat to liberty city. Right after that your cousin Roman Comes to pick you up in a crappy car. once you get to his place you find out that he lied about his wealth and you have to do chores for him. the controls are pretty good, but the movement feels heavy same with the cars. and this game is really realistic , but a little too realistic. This game i...

    The American Dream 0

The long waited Grand theft auto 4 is finally here is it the GTA that we have been waiting for or should we forget about it and keep playing vice city. The story begins as a european named Niko Belic who ships off after talking with his cousin to persuade Niko to come to america to live the big life with cars, mansions, girls, etc.... What Niko doesn't know is that his cousin lied to him and that his cousin is actually in a mix with drug dealers and gang bangers that are out to ge...

Powerful Story Telling - But You May Not Like the Story 0

No matter what your opinion of previous Grand Theft Auto games, GTA 4 is worth playing (at least for the first half of the game). The gameplay is satisfying and nicely varied between vehiclular and pedestrian action, but this is the least you can expect from a AAA game title. What sets GTA 4 apart is it's story and strong narrative. In the opening act, the main character Niko evokes the player's sympathy. He is haunted by his past, which includes the violent deaths of family members and war cri...

The perfect next generation iteration of the franchise. 0

GTA 3 remains my favourite video game of all time. I was absolutely blown away by the scope and depth of the open world and was amazed by the countless hours of gameplay to be had. Although I felt that Vice City was a superior game, GTA 3 had a special place in my heart for being so groundbreaking for its time. Although for many, GTA San Andreas took things up another notch, I didn't like it. I felt that it did "too much", and I thought a lot of what it did was redundant and ended up in my mind ...

Good game. Fuck Niko Bellic. 0

Everything you've heard about GTA IV is true. It looks great, it sounds great, for most part its alot of fun to play.  Let's talk about the story, or more specifically, about Niko. Starting out, Niko is a likable protagonist in the same way all good scoundrel-with-a-heart characters are. He gets into trouble, but he usually isn't the one who starts it, and you can empathize with him.  As the game goes on this persona drifts from one of a empathetic rogue caught up in events to a sociopath, willi...

I just hope Grand theft auto five is better. 0

I've owned GTA4 pretty much since day one, I love the game to death, and I would have no idea what I would do with out it.The trailer for GTA5 was just released as seen in the video below. now I'm not one to judge, but I think that this game is just a remake of San Andreas. But back to the main point of the review, Grand theft auto four is just like the other games in the series, you play as a man who is faced with a series of problems that happens, like drugs and other things.the thing...

    Worth playing. 0

*This review started on 8/18/2008 and took a few entries.*Yup, I'm that one person who hasn't played this game. True, I did try it way back in May but I had other games on my mind then. It didn't help that I hated how the textures would load slowly or the draw distance was messed up. That and I didn't care for the car physics. I know they did one update for MP but maybe they did another to the textures because I rarely see it now and the draw distance is fine. I had to get use to the cars but it...

Same game as before, but better quality. 0

Grand Theft Auto IV is not radically different to its last generation predecessors. It only introduces a handful of new features, many of which are fairly minor. You still commit thefts, assaults and murders in return for money. You still have to work for untrustworthy criminals who might stab you in the back at any time. You're still in . But GTA IV is better than its predecessors. It may be built on the same concept, but this time round, all of the small nuts and bolts that put GTA together ar...

This is the best game I have ever played. 5/5 0

GTA IV on the PS3 and Xbox 360 has to be the best game I have ever played. It has everything you could want. Great graphics, great story and great multiplayer. First off. Controls. The controls are very good. They are your basic third person shooter controls. R2 and L2 to shoot. Analogs to walk and aim. And the face buttons to run, jump and perform actions such as entering cars. The controls are basic but easy to use. Graphics next and they are brilliant. Characters and explosions look great. T...

    Welcome to Liberty City 0

"With more sights, shows, restaurants, bars, museums, shopping and borderline psychopaths than you can shake a shotgun at, there is no place quite like Liberty City. Where else can you get sworn at by a senior citizen, accosted by a crack head, propositioned by a prostitute, and strip-searched by a police officer, all before breakfast? Discover the history, culture and diversity that make a booming metropolis the capital of the world, at least according to the over-caffeinated locals. We encoura...

Grand Theft Auto 4 is the first installment on the next-gen consoles in the GTA franchise from Rockstar. It stars Eastern European Niko Bellic as the main protagonist, who is in route to Liberty City to meet up with his cousin Roman Bellic. Roman has sent numerous emails and letters to Niko and his mother about how he is living the "American Dream". He informs them that he has penthouse sweets, beautiful women, exotic fast cars and lots of money, but upon arrival in Liberty City, Niko disc...

    Grand Theft Auto IV 0

Rockstar has succeeded again in creating one of the biggest, most ambitious games ever, and managing to keep it fun in the meantime. With making the leap to the current generation of hardware, they had to step up the technology, as by now the PS2 games look ancient. They did so in a big way. There's slowdown in the more chaotic moments and some texture popping when you're driving quickly, but it's overall a good-looking, polished game. Faces sometimes look a bit weird, but the overall presentati...

One of the best games out this year, with Metal Gear Solid 4 being it's main competition, GTA is an essential purpose and redifines the sandbox genre. GTA IV's gameplay is really great. The combat and shooting elements have greatly been improved over the last game so if you're a shooter fan you will love this game. Also the driving mechanics make the driving better than most driving games out there e.g. need for speed, ferrarri challenge etc. The story will capture you with its' 40 hours single ...

There's a little something for everyone in GTA 4. 0

GTA 4 manages to provide a deep word. Whether you're following the great story or screwing around, it's always a blast to play. Graphics – 8.5/10: It's hard to rate a game graphically when you know that there are thousands of activities going on around you. However, this is a review. The game looks amazing in certain lights. Sometimes, you might find yourself looking at a unique looking game where the character models look like RockStar Games' game art. Sometimes, you might be staring at a deta...

Grand Theft Auto 4 is a tour de force. You'll be hard-pressed to think of another video game that makes such a dramatic first impression. A massive, vibrant homage to New York City ... some of the best character development ever seen in video game history ... rock-solid game mechanics polished to a shine like never seen before in this series. A storyline that grips you from the start with characters that engage you .How could anything go wrong with this potential masterpiece?I hate to think it b...

    Grand Theft Auto 0

Grand Theft Auto IV is without a doubt Rockstar's most ambitious attempt in the GTA franchise and for the most part it meets expectations.   Meets, but does not exceed.  The hero, Niko Bellic is a compelling protagonist, and he's probably the most compelling main character we've seen thus far in a GTA game.  Niko is a genuinely likable guy who is forced to do bad things because of his circumstances.  The circumstances in which he finds himself are Liberty City and it's corruption.  Perhaps t...

Well to start out i would like to say that i was immediately impressed with the graphics of GTA 4, the cars, the characters and especially the fire and explosions are a big improvement from San Andreas. This game has an awesome storyline in which many cases you get to make decision's on what you want to do or what you feel is right, this is an awesome addition to this game. The new cell phone is also very nice because its easy to use and you can get new ringtones and backgrounds for it. In addit...

    Ovo je Liberty City! 0

Videogames are the new form of story-telling. When done correctly, they can engage the viewer into a world that is usually better than their own. Even with all the controversy surrounding the series, Grand Theft Auto has always done a great job in connecting the player with the characters, storylines and environments. The open play gives players essentially the controls to do things at their own pace. Yes, you will have to do some mandatory tasks to open up the entire ‘world’. Once you’ve done t...

    GGTL Review: GTA IV 0

Where do you start when reviewing a game that lets you do nearly anything? Like this: Grand Theft Auto IV is an example of what games should strive to be. It’s flawed, but so full of character and unapologetic in the way its story develops that you’d be insane (or under 18 without willing relatives/siblings/guy on the street to buy it for you) not to play this game.If you are familiar with other Grand Theft Auto games this is more of the same in terms of basic gameplay mechanics and tone. Welcome to Liberty City......where dreams are shattered 0

Back in 2001, the world experienced a new type of game. It’s a game that couldn’t be categorized (as there was nothing similar) at the time. It was a game that was a blend of everything that was out now, with one new addition….freedom to do whatever you want, how you want, when you want, that came to be known as Grand Theft Auto III, or GTA 3 for short.  GTA III created the “sandbox” genre, such a genre in which the key gameplay is “freedom”.  GTA games allowed you to play as an antihero in fict...

The first five to ten hours into the game I was pleasantly surprised by this game. This is was the first GTA I played seriously, mainly because it was the first that featured a main character that looked like a nice guy. In a world of crazy people, mafia, drug dealers and other organized crime he comes along as a reasonable guy and gives a good contrast to the crazy world out there. His cousin, which isn't part of that organized crime, but gets into conflicts with them every now and then also se...

Powerhouse series gets next gen release, but it's not that great! 0

The Grand Theft Auto series has always been very popular. The series re-invented the open world game play system. Then  Grand Theft Auto III took this huge open world and turned it into a hugely impressive 3D game world for the then next generation Playstation 2 console and created a living breathing city. But since then there hasn't been a lot of advancement in the series. Yes Vice city was a good retro diversion with cool 80's music and San Andreas helped many young folk pretend they were a "g...

This is the first GTA game I have ever completed. That statement is going to ring true with a lot of people out there. I beat it in 31 hours with 60% of the game completed, 60% being the full story. A lot of gamers who play the GTA games are used to going into the city, getting a ridiculous amount of weapons, and causing havoc until they either get killed or busted. This process is then repeated for hours on end. I can't comment on the story for the other GTA games, I've heard they are good, but...
