All I want to know is - does the game's story follow the same bonkers jumping of the shark of fahrenheit? If so, I'll give this a pass thanks as the whole second half of that game ruined the experience for me worse than the Matrix sequels.

Have we reached the point now that the US will get the full version of the game? Or will it have all the boobs and interactive sex stripped out just as they did with Indigo Prophecy?

Why does this have to be a PS3 Exclusive?! I've been a huge fan of Indigo Prophecy since it came out  (well, the first 3/4's of it anyways) and when I heard the same guys were behind Heavy Rain I nearly blew a gasket. It sounds like they've refined the original formula a lot and this could turnout REALLY damned good.

I think this is one of the greatest previews I've ever read, no joke. The game sounds really interesting, and thanks Ryan for not spoiling the story as other sites said they would (I immediatly stopped reading those ones)

Another game that might convince me to get ps3 some day.

One of the only games I envy the PS3 for getting. I loved Fahrenheit, even though I never completed it, and this looks like a more polished, better and awesomer than Fahrenheit. I hope that I by the time it comes out, have a PS3. This could be a very long, serious, and gritty interactive story, and I really hopes it's going to be that. I really have faith in the game, and Quantic Dream.

In the last hour of the game you find out that the Origami Killer is actually a race of sentient machines and you drop-kick your PS3 out of the nearest window.

This sounds amazing!  If they follow through on this and don't turn it stupid like Indigo Prophecy, this could be a classic!

Glad you kept this spoilr and story free. Really looking forward to this. Played Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy for the first time about 8 months ago and while it started strong it felt weak and weird at the end. Really hoping they stick to its guns in this one and keep it as serious and plausible as possible.

I'm am in 100% media blackout phase for this game. It seems like a game that is intended to be experienced as raw and unaware as humanly possible. If I see or hear the words "Heavy Rain", from this moment on, I'm clamping my eyes shut, putting my fingers in my ears, and loudly yelling, "NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO!!!!".

The idea sounds ok. Character models look ugly though and its not that pretty.

It's the Brian Eckberg game.  Maybe it has procedural beard technology.

Interesting preview, Ryan. I admit, to me this still looks like the worst parts of Shenmue... but it is pretty unique as far as tone and subject matter goes, so maybe I've not been giving it enough credit. I'll keep an eye on it.

This for PS3... Alan Wake for X360, she's shaping up to be a stellar year for story telling! This could in fact be that turning point in the culture which see's games begin to out perform feature films. It will happen.... just a matter of when.?..

NEVER FORGET : the debacle that was the last 3rd of The Indigo Prophecy.

I found it interesting that they would show the water level at the beginning of scenes. In Fahrenheit (or Indigo Prophecy as you folks might call it), the game told you the temperature (in Fahrenheit) at the beginning of each sequence and as the story progressed, it got colder. So I'm guessing, it'll keep raining and the water level will rise. The game looks very interesting, not your typical frag-fest but more of an interactive thriller. Hopefully they can make good on some of the promises that were made with Fahrenheit.

Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing.  The minutiae of it all that Ryan mentioned really reminds me of the same "world" feeling that Shenmue tried to portray.  Anyone for a game of darts? "
