Looking through the archives that @sexytoad just posted, it actually seems that all three are intact:

Fallout 3: Melee Guide

Geometry Wars 2

Oblivion: Building a Mage

Should be simple enough getting them back into the system on this side, though with the unified guide system you may want to see what other people are doing with the Oblivion and FO3 guides before adding them in. A section on character builds in both those games would probably be a pretty good addition.

A specially extended three-hour edition focusing on this week's new hotness: Aliens: Colonial Marines.

(They haven't actually mentioned it yet, probably haven't finalized their decision.)

@cclemon36: Hover over the "Game Wiki" tab and you get a table of contents.

I agree that there shouldn't be a "cap on the amount of information," but I am not advocating removing it entirely, just putting it elsewhere on the wiki where it makes more sense.

Alternative title: Should we move some information from the main game-space to the new guide system?

On the Main Space

So, this has been on my mind for a while now, and the launch of the new site design seems like as good a place as any to bring it up. A number of wiki pages for game seem to dig real deep into the mechanics, weapon statistics, move lists, complete lists of magic spells available and other such minutiae. A good example would be the Black Ops II page, which has as it stands, complete data on every single weapon in the multiplayer, details on every single perk and scoresteaks, etc. While having this information available on the wiki is good, would it not be a better idea to save the main game-space for a broader overview of the concepts and moving the details into the guide-space?

As Separate Pages

This is a similar issue, but it's about what exactly deserves it's own character, location or "thing" page on the wiki.

I've been playing Skyrim again recently so this come to mind (and as such I'll be using it as an example here), there are games that have a huge number of NPCs that could easily justify having their own character pages, i.e. they have unique quest-lines, personalities and routines. It's easy to justify characters like Ulfric or Arngeir having their own pages, but do much more minor characters like Narfi (who is involved in two separate quests, for example) need them? There are similar issues with locations, obviously places like Whiterun and Riften need them, but do we need information for each settlement or minor caves and ruins? Where does one draw the line when it comes to this?

So basically, what I am asking is: is there a limit to what we should add or should we dig deep and just add everything and everyone that's in a game?

The way I see it is that the GB wiki will never approach the details of the dedicated sites like the Vault (Fallout) or the UESP (Elder Scrolls) when it comes to pure comprehensive details on every single person, location and item in the games, but it would still be good to have some information here when people are looking for it.

So EMP grenades are useful for something. Do they kill any other tech? Or just scorestreaks?

They take out all equipment (betties, shock charges, tac inserts, etc.), and the blast penetrates walls. They're pretty great. With the right timing you can even take out things like Dragonfires and even a Hellstorm Missile with an EMP 'nade.

Unlock tokens do not carry over prestige-to-prestige. Every time you prestige you have the ability to unlock an item permanently, regardless of the level requirement. This one will last you through all prestiges.

If you want everything, you need to hit Level 55 Prestige 10, which will automatically unlock everything.

Refund tokens only refunds the unlock tokens for that current prestige - i.e. you wasted some and unlocked something you don't want, you can reset them all and get exactly what you want instead.

Attention, Attention, Important Announcement!

Stop taking poor quality mobile-phone pictures, there's a much easier way to get your emblem from Elite:

  1. Simply head to https://elite.callofduty.com/player/hq
  2. Find the tiny picture of your emblem next to the level and acquire it's URL. It will be something like: https://api.elite.callofduty.com//emblem/xbox/54d10030cc86b1b95d379d8c1ca7ba39?size=40&title=ops2&imgtype=svg
  3. Change imgtype= to png and the size=40 to something more suitable, and voila! Full sized emblem:

Later level abilities have always been pretty dominant (poisoning especially).

Poison is easy to counter, because it has such a tiny range (other than the dart, obviously, but knives are seriously the best ranged bar none), so a competent player will stun you any time you attempt to poison them.

@pyrodactyl: If you're struggling to compete purely from the lack of abilities, I'd recommend focusing on Wolfpack to level up. You get loads of XP, plus easy challenge completions for an extra bonus. A complete session should net you about 10k XP before bonuses for a sub-15 minute run.

Crafting abilties is not that big a deal, and you can easily compensate for a lack of them (most players just use them to lower cooldowns, but you very rarely use an ability immediately every time it comes off cooldown, so it's not crucial). I'd gladly share some tips if there's something specific you're struggling with from other players.
