McFly-inspired hovercar coming to Burnout Paradise.
Criterion has let loose a pair of screenshots of an upcoming car that will be part of a paid download coming in 2009. It's the Jansen 88 Special. Check this thing out:

Yes, it will shoot flames off of the tires when you boost. And you'll be able to enter and exit hover mode by clicking in the left stick. The car will be available for purchase on its own or as part of a set of four additional cars in the "Legendary" pack.
Criterion says it'll have more to announce about Burnout Paradise next week.
...hey, they should make this car the only one that can use the restart race feature.

Oh man, it keeps getting harder and harder not to buy burnout paradise. THERE ARE TOO MANY GAMES DAMN IT! and I'm building my new PC. Developers, stop being so awesome or at least give me time to catch up.

Reading this, I immediately assumed the Bootlegger is going to be the General Lee, and the Nighthawk is going to be KITT. It took me a second, thinking about the Manhattan Spirit, before I realized what it was.
i was about to give up on paradise since i played so much of it and move onto motorstorm 2..... criterion can't you just let me play other games dammit!
A video game needs nothing more than the DeLorean for it to be greatest game of ALL TIME! If your suspicions are correct Foggen, and one of the other cars IS the Ecto-1, then there will be no need for anyone to make a game ever again, because I will be playing this game untill the day I die. Thats it.
That's so awesome! I'll likely pick the game up once they release this DLC, maybe sooner if the well of great games being released starts to dry up before that happens.
On a related note, I used to work at Chuck E. Cheese fixing the game machines. One day, when I couldn't be there, one of the cashier girls had to take over. We made sure she checked all the "flux capacitors" as part of the routine. She got so frustrated when she couldn't find them :)
What's next? An update that enables you to walk outside the car and a GTA-style gameplay? I must say I admire them for their support to this game. Who knows, we might see DLC for Paradise in 2010 as well!?
interesting. I think I'll pass though. online is pretty much dead these days. even with people on it. you know what I mean. just a bunch of people doing NOTHING or people leaving the game mid challenge. same old.

Where is kitt from knight rider With turbo boost jump button? (or a look a like) I think that car is legendary enough to be in the pack.
Exept for maybe the back to the future car(done) and the batmobile there is no other car as famous as Kitt from knight rider.
1980's kitt not the crappy new one....it is horrible and ugly the new one.
BEtter yet where is the knight rider game from the burn out guys that is the whole point of the show kitt chases down the bad 80's dudes and rams them off the road. That is what the burnout engine does well crashes and ramming. They could make the first good night rider game with the burnout tech.
If pain can get Hasslehoff of all games why cant the burn out dudes get some knight rider kitt action?
