Anybody else having trouble connecting to the IRC?

Really sorry for bumping this topic, but I'm a computer idiot. So, I've been on the IRC for quite a while but when my computer crashed and had its OS replaced I tried to log onto the IRC but it would always come up with the same error:

Unable to connect: java.net.ConnectException: connection refused: connect.

I've tried reinstalling java multiple times, restarting my browser, restarting my browser, /connecting, identifying my password, and trying it on a different browser. 

Any idea on how to fix this problem?

I use Java on Google Chrome, but it didn't work on FireFox either. I tried turning off the firewall. Still doesn't work.

Try Chatzilla, it's a Firefox addon.

Man, even Chatzilla doesn't work. Connection refused.

Are you using Windows on a limited account or something?  Running a software firewall?

It's 10:10 AM on a Sunday. I shouldn't even be awake o.o Try prime time- weekday nights, EST. That's when it's most active. Wednesdays, usually.

You need an IRC client to visit an IRC chartroom. Like mIRC. Download it, and use that to access the Giant Bomb IRC. "

Yeah but I like the randomness and chaos that happens on IRC. Plus stronger friendships tend to be made when the chat is live.

I was surprised that DeltaAnime was used. DATorrents (their torrent tracker) is one of the most unreliable and slow servers out there. I really think the IRC should be moved to freenode.net or irchighway.net (animevice is on the latter). "
