I present to you, my top ten games of 2010! Some of these may have been expected, some maybe took you for surprise. Some of you don't even care, and that's fine too! A big lacking in downloadable titles this year, I just couldn't think of one super d

My GOTY awards for 2011. I will technically play Xenoblade before the end of the year, so this list could change. Runner-ups include Portal 2, and Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax.

These are games I own. Yep.

2012 was a strange year for me, kind of dull in terms of games actually released this year...compared to 2010 & 2011 anyways. I got way into retro games, and I will definitely have to give them some props on their own list. Despite all that, some

Everyone has a favorites list. I can't really remember everything I like since I sorta have to be in the right frame of mind to even remember stuff I liked or still like. Played many games...

Just want a list of the games I own, since I'm starting Toulose LauTrack of them.

I find myself usually playing certain MK characters, preferring some over others. This is my attempt to figure out just how many there really are.

Where I try to list all the games people tend to like, to help counter the blind hatred some people have for the Wii because the franchise is successful without these folks having given any money to Nintendo. I've not even SEEN a Wiimote in person,

I mean "own" as in have in my possession; I haven't even beaten Tactics Ogre or Tactics Advance yet.

Tired of being left behind in games conversations, I've just watched the games I've begun watching others play games I've wanted to see. It's not usually the ideal method, obviously, but some of the elements in most games can be enjoyed no matter ho

I don't know why, but white-on-black minimalism somehow does something to my brain. I can't get enough of it. Maybe it started when I saw the white halls of Bespin in Empire Strikes Back, only to find the corruption within. This theme was repeate

Whether or not I know a thing about the game itself, the premise causes creative sparks in my brain.

Started playing Soul Calibur II when we had a guest over, and got reacquainted with the game. Wanted to record some of my thoughts on the game by highlighting some of my favorite characters, both ones I play, and ones that look cool but don't happen

With everyone a bit weary over the mindless, screaming debates of late, I thought I'd commemorate a bit of my personal gaming rage in a short list of games that make me go a bit crazy.

Not so easy to do unless you do the JUMP IN YOUR FACE thing. The good ones get inside your head. This list will probably increase the more remember some of the old nightmare games of my past.

I tend not to think about music so much in games. I guess it's all about how it fits together. But sometimes a track really stands out, and I turn into a Youtube zombie until I can find it. Here are games that spring to mind as having tracks that par

In many ways, you can't go home again. I grew up with the 2600, moved on to the Atari 400, and kept going up the gaming evolutionary chain, usually a few steps behind where everyone else was. Cheaper that way. Many of the games, when I picked them

You heard me! Not every one of the offenders really makes a huge impression on me; I usually manage to find ways around the problems. Every once in a while, though, the game becomes all but unplayable due to bad color choice. Special awards go to

I honestly don't know if they're out there. I love that we use our imagination to guess what they might be like, but too often people try to make aliens a bit TOO relatable. Since it's impossible to guess what a true alien might be like, aliens wil

You know what? I don't care if it's zombies, the bomb, aliens, robots, foreigners, domestics, whatever. If people get feral on me, I'll be sure to let them know that there was once a vast, complicated, imperfect civilization, and that I saw it all.

This is more about stuff that can't be played on the current line of consoles and computers. I realize there are ways, many ways, to play old games, but I'm talking the straight and narrow here.

For those of us who have friends or partners who actually live in the same house, whom you don't want to kick out in order to play a video game with, this song is for you.

... these are the games I will hunt down. Going to stick with what I know to be exclusives for this list, although if this was my only third gen I can think of some other games to add.

As much as I like the word dark, I'm making this list to remind myself just how often people have been overusing it! :)

As Jokek's A History of Human Inclusion shows, the video game Mass Effect was instrumental in preparing a sizable quantity of human fledglings for their initial induction into Galactic society. Since then, humans have, in turn, been instrumental in

Despite some notable exceptions, mainframes are on the outs compared to distributed networks. Distributed networks allow you to link a bunch of cheap computers and get decent processing power and relative security as compared to the old centralized

That a manly enough title for you? Some games I spend enough time with that I become attached to the characters. It's different than a book or a movie, but there's still a connection, and the investment of time and interest can lead to some pretty ha

Let's see if I remember to add to this list. I have a talent for breaking games. Makes me a good tester, but it also makes me a harsh critic who pushes for robust design.

Maybe I just clicked with the game, but these felt like they had a great arc that I like to revisit, even long after these games came and went.

Weird as this may sound, there are a few games out there that try to put shoot-em-up into their perfectly innocent side-scrolling action platformer or action RPG. Here's the only two I can think of right now, but feel free to suggest others.

As much as I understand why comprehensive or entertaining manuals are rare now, I still miss them. For information on Infocom's Feelies: http://infocom.elsewhere.org/gallery/ And for information on a company that collects and sells classic

I'm a bit jazzed about some of the new Western-themed games. I'm going to use this as a sort of catch-all for wild west moments of all types, even stuff that wasn't Western per-se. That means when it felt like something straight out of Peckinpah, it

Rather than have everything exist for the player, why not have things interact on their own, as well?

Apparently A Tale in the Desert isn't entered... Nor is Atriarch... Nor is Seeker... " Love" is too damned hard to look up... Well, there you have it. The list is above. Sorta:

To let off some steam after swimming through some paperwork, I rooted through some piles of games looking for Wizardry 8. I couldn't find Wiz 8 (and now I think I left it behind somewhere, which sucks) but I found these.

In an attempt to mollify the erupting volcano that's disrupting the lives of northern Europeans, I will cover a few games that had specific moments that made me erupt in laughter. It's not an easy thing to do. I must seem very stern.
