For pure sabering, it's Phantom Menace's finale for me. My favorite battle though is Yoda vs Sidious. This is like the only fight where they make the force seem just crazy anime insane where people are wrecking the hell out of shit. I loved that. The swordplay is lackluster, but everything else is awesome.

Best sword fight in anything Star Wars content is Darth Maul vs Deathwatch dude in Clone Wars though

While it sucks that he lost his job and everything, but what did people expect would happen? Everyone is outraged and I don't know about Canada, but in the US if you badmouth your job in a public manner you are at a pretty high risk of losing that job. Especially big government jobs where the HR department doesn't mess around.

I 100% agree with this.

Plus, the way he talks about his job makes him seem borderline suicidal so it's probably a really good thing that he can no longer work there.

Some choice quotes:

"A main character who, while original, is every bit an empty adolescent power fantasy. Hell may not be other people; it may be just spending 15 hours with him."

"To be fair, Ninja Theory has made this the most understandable DMC game, but it works to the game's disadvantage because it highlights how uninteresting it is."

"Nearly every line of dialog set my teeth on edge. It's adolescent, it's puerile, and it's nowhere near as sassy and clever as the game thinks it is."

"A good game lost in a juvenile tantrum. It may be acceptable to a unique demographic, but for many others, it's a game you might want to play when no-one else is around."

This guy was on Weekend Confirmed giving high praise to the genius writing of Borderlands 2 yet this is adolescent and juvenile to the point of being insipid? Anyways, review sounds like everything that actually matters in this genre of game is well executed and the only actual gameplay knock is that skill is required in later levels, stopping you from button mashing your way to success. I thought it was great. Tarantino's best since Jackie Brown. Not really understanding the "lighthearted American slavery" line... unless you're a sicko and stuff like getting whipped for dropping something in the kitchen or getting torn apart by rabid dogs for not wanting to be killed is "lighthearted" to you.

I did a rewind in Episode 3 to try and get a different outcome for a character, but it turns out what happened was something will happen no matter what you do unless you make a choice way back in Episode 1 that is equally as bad for the character.

I was in between. I knew I didn't want to get tripped up by not being able to find something or pressing the wrong button in a QTE so I kept on the button prompts and the little white dots. I got rid of the part that tells you when you've made a choice or that the game is remembering your choices. I just wanted to play it as if it was a movie.

I think TWD really hammers into your head that you're supposed to like Clementine as a cute kid you're supposed to want to look out for. I'm sure Heavy Rain was designed for you to care about the kids too, but it felt more natural for me and less blatantly trying to make the character cute and adorable in order for you to care about them. Early in that game as I was playing as the dad I really wanted to nail all of the gameplay because in my mind I didn't want to make this guy a shit father. I never really felt that way about Lee or really have any attachment other than making sure the cute little kid was ok. TWD also benefits from being a lot smaller in game world scope since you're only playing the game from one perspective.

Also, I think the gameplay elements of HR are pretty awesome while I think the gameplay elements of TWD are what makes the experience less enjoyable. I think TWD would be a lot better if was a straight up visual novel and they got rid of everything but dialog choices as changed the QTEs to where you could never get a game over screen. I'm not sure why there even is a concept of game over in a game that isn't trying to be a high score challenge or skill test and is all about you experiencing a story. I wouldn't trade out HR stuff like the grocery store chase, Scott Shelby going ham in the mansion, and others for anything though. I loved those bits.

The dead kid didn't bother me at all and neither did Duck. His mom committing suicide had more of an emotional impact. Once they are zombies they are mindless killing machines who will kill any and everyone without hesitation. Creatures like that have to be put down.

Meet the Press, PBS New Hour, and 60 Minutes. I don't really search online for news.
