The earliest game I ever remember playing. Tiny me shared the keyboard with dad as we blasted Nazis.

Being a strictly Genesis kid meant THIS was my Megaman. Don't cry for me Argentina. This to me is much cooler. I never got the whole Pinocchio/Astro Boy Megaman plot with the red dog and the themed villains. This was some Silent Running post-apocalyptic shit with weird creatures, and the hero besides looking weird had his own little personality.

As a young child, I had no patience for puzzle oriented games a la Tetris so this got ZERO gameplay from me. It collected dust.

I like pinball. I like video games. I'm not big on the combination of the two. Sorry Sonic. The metallic snake monster was pretty cool.
-
I really dug this one because of all the element based shields. I thought the worlds looked better and I enjoyed the little tweaks to the gameplay.

A sizable population thinks this is better than the first one. Maybe it's because I don't like Tails and would take pleasure in watching him fall of ledges into hazards.

This game was/is amazing. Best Sonic game ever made. That's pretty sad considering how many games have been emitting from this franchise over the years.

The big novelty concept was the top loading cartridge. This was more of Sonic 3 basically and pretty damn fun. Oddly enough, I remember liking the music from this game more than the others and have been known to reminisce about the Battery Zone music.
-
This was pretty bad. This was a concept whose time had not come yet. Although on paper it sounds really cool, the camerawork was awkward and I was lost without the super linear level design of the previous games.

This cartridge was broken so I didn't play this until I picked up a Namco anthology for the Gameboy.
