March Vita lineup and upcoming titles

by blacklagoon

It's March, and it's time to get excited for this months list of current and upcoming Vita releases. As usual, this list is focused on the North American market, with Europe and Japan exclusive titles in their own sections below.

The month starts up with Sega rectifying a their earlier sin of omission when they only released the PS3 version of the 2012 Hatsune Miku rhythm game Project DIVA f. Now the original Vita version is finally making its debut as well. Then Squre Enix not only finally delivers on their 2011 promise of bringing a spruced up port of Final Fantasy X, but throws in the sequel, Final Fantasy X-2 for good measure. Finally, Tecmo Koei continues to be the Vita MVP, bringing out Deception IV: Blood Ties, the first new game in their trap 'em up series in nearly a decade - and just a month after its Japanese debut no less. As usual, there are bound to be more downloadable titles annouced as the month progresses.

Moving on to localization and new title announcements, looks like there were over 20 in total in February. For the west, Sony confirmed the long rumored port of the 3 original Sly Cooper games, as well as revealing they're bringing over the free to play No Heroes Allowed! match three spin-off. Aksys doubles down on BlazBlue, localizing not only Chrono Phantasma for Vita but also the related XBlaze visual novel. And NIS America moves straight from Trigger Happy Havoc into Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, as well as promising us the Vita port of Disgaea 4.

Beyond the regular publishers, we got the Scoops approved Risk of Rain and The Swapper, while MouseCraft and Ethan: Meteor Hunter whips up a rodent puzzle double bill. Also excavated was a SteamWorld Dig announcement, as well as a remake of cell shaded car combat game Cel Damage. And dropping from the sky was a pair of Titans from Puppy Games, 3D retro shooter Futuridium EP Deluxe, as well as the lost little exploration probe in metroidvania Forma.8.

And over in Japan, Compile Heart revealed the rumored project headed by former Disgaea staff - Makai Ichiban Kan. Demon Gaze developer Experience revealed that the previously 360 exclusive dungeon crawler Ken no Machi no Ihoujin would also be coming to the Vita. Also all girl fighting game Arcana Heart 3: Love Max will be coming, as well as several more visual novels.

And we're done. Come back next month for a JRPG two punch with the English language debut of dungeon crawler maker Experience with Demon Gaze, as well as child labor for fun a profit in Conception II.
