    The CP System is a family of arcade system hardware manufactured by Capcom primarily for their line of arcade games from 1988 to 1999, including the Street Fighter II and Street Fighter III games.

    CP System (CPS-1)

    The original CP System (CPシステム Shīpī Shisutemu). The first three Street Fighter II games, The World Warrior, Champion Edition, and Turbo: Hyper Fighting, all ran on this board. The Sharp X68000 computer was used by Capcom as a development machine for their CPS-1 arcade system.

    • Note: Later models replaced the Yamaha sound chip with a 3D-based sound chip called Q-Sound.
