And what do you know, it's the first of September, and I'm back again with my list of current and upcoming titles for the PlayStation Vita - on time again no less. As usual this list is focused on the North American market, with Europe and Japan exclusive titles in their own sections below.

Looking at the September releases list, it's very retail heavy this time around. XSeed starts it all of with The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II, another entry in their acclaimed RPG series. Compile Heart and Idea Factory take a stab at the turnbased dungeon crawler with MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death. NIS America is releasing Criminal Girls 2: Party Favors, the sequel to the delinquent reform managment RPG, and taking a stab at anime tie-in visual novels with Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness. And pQube brings us Steins;Gate 0, the sequel to the acclaimed science fiction visual novel, in addition to Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni, an all girl brawler with perhaps less... lofty ambitions creatively. In the download only realm, Aksys is bringing over the expanded version of Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters, and indies Darkest Dungeon and Lichtspeer should come out as well.

Moving on to new game announcements, the western side was pretty sparse this month. Mostly like the not at all Undertale inspired Glitched, twin stick shooter Vostok inc, and a port of tower defense RPG Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten. Else visual novel publisher Sekai Project announced Narcissu 10th Anniversary Anthology.

Japan was more lively, with a confirmation of a Vita version of Valkyria Chronicles prequel Valkyria: Azure Revolution. Gust revealed not only Nights of Azure 2, but a new RPG called Blue Reflection. Nippon Ichi has another unconventional retro RPG in The Princess is Money-Hungry. There has also been talk that Konami will show off a Vita game called Drive Girls at Tokyo Game Show next week, though they are featuring games from independent "partners" (like Falcom) there so it isn't necessarily a Konami published title.

Else, in a bit of housekeeping I've removed indie action RPG Moon Hunters from the list. In spite of offering a Vita version as part of their Kickstarter, they've canceled it due to technical issues (which seems believable given that apparently even the PS4 version doesn't run smoothly.)

And, I'm done! Come back next month, oh, tons of stuff... Dragon Quest Builders, World of Final Fantasy, Neptunia vs Sega, Yomawari... Here's a trailer for the latter:
