April Vita lineup and upcoming titles

April is on us, and I'm here with a new version of my list of current and upcoming games for the PlayStation Vita. As usual, this list is focused on the North American market, with Europe and Japan exclusive titles in their own sections below.

Out this month, we have no retail releases but a nice selection of downloadable ones. Highlights include Latin American puzzle platformer MonsterBag, acclaimed platformer Shovel Knight, Shadow of the Colossus inspired Titan Souls, kickstarted adventure Broken Age, and the Desert Strike-ish Project Root.

March was a nice month for new game announcements, with the sci-fi fully 3D turn-based tactics game Lost Dimension getting a western release, as well as Yumi's Odd Odyssey and BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend. Indie-wise we're getting Stealth Inc. 2, Squares, and Pocket God vs. Desert Ashes.

In Japan, two new Hyperdimension Neptunia games were annouced, one which sees the CPU's take on a zombie army, while the other crosses over with Sega's Hard Girls franchise. Other games include more Jeff Gerstmann approved Gal Gun, anime cross-over rhythm game Miracle Girls Festival, boob brawler Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni, Science Adventure game Chaos;Child and a new entry in Spike Chunsoft's Mystery Dungeon series. Also coming in just at the end here, Square Enix sneaked in a surprise announcement for Dragon Quest Heroes II just as we were entering April, for Vita as well as other PlayStation platforms. (And in spite of a lot of skepticism, it appears not to be an April Fools joke.)

And I'm done. Next month there's even more Hyperdimension Neptunia, as the hack 'n slash action spin-off Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed releases. But since there aren't any good trailers for it, I'll just leave you with this look at MonsterBag instead:
