It's getting colder as we enter the final months of 2014, but I'm still going to give you a run down of the current and upcoming games for the PlayStation Vita. As usual, this list is focused on the North American market, with Europe and Japan exclusive titles in their own sections below.

Tales of Hearts R leads off a solid month of retail releases, bringing the well-liked JRPG to the west for the first time. Also coming over from Japan is Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2, this time launching side-by-side with the PS3 version. Batman goes to space in Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. Telltale finally delivers their the promised The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead: Season Two, both digital and retail. And Minecraft gets a physical release this month as well.

Download-wise, we're getting more Senran Kagura with rhythm/cooking game Senran Kagura Bon Appétit!, motocross racing with MXGP, as well as indie horror with Home and 16-bit poop with The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.

New western title anoucements included localizations of Hyperdimension Neptunia SRPG spin-off Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart, and Gust RPG Atelier Ayesha Plus. Also ports of indies like Fenix Rage and Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype, and Sony's Resogun. Europe is also getting a new Rugby 15, though I wouldn't count on it comming to North America.

In Japan, Sword Art Online got a third game with Lost Song, and Gust continues porting their RPGs with Atelier Escha & Logy Plus. Anime Yuki Yuna wa Yusha de Aru got a tie-in with Jukai no Kioku, and a bunch visual novels and otome games wer annouced as well. For a full list look below.

And we're done! Not sure what next what next month will bring, no firm release dates for December as far as I know, so here's trailer for NISA's beautiful and weird litte puzzle game htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary:

BoI: Rebirth is finally here! So pumped to see all the new stuff that they added/play a version of the game that doesn't run like shit.

Crazy that BoI:R is a free game for Plus members. In fact, these past few months have been insanely great for Vita users with Velocity 2x, Pix the Cat, TxK, Dragon's Crown and Terraria (Well, and Spelunky, but everybody has the game of the generation already, right?).

It's really not looking like Oreshika is gonna make it out this year, does it?

And what the hell happened to the Vita version of Road Not Taken? That system is perfect for that game.

I still don't see a reason to get a vita, personally. Maybe if more games got brought over (like FSN and other VN's) but if I was to buy a handheld, a new 3DS sound better to me

Sadly, the middleware the game uses (Scaleform) decided to stop updating the Vita version, so there are various issues with the game they'll have to find a way around since the Scaleform developer won't fix them.

Thanks for the list but Starbound is in development hell for its original platform, so no way it will get a port to the Vita.

@trafalgarlaw: A Vita version was officially announced a while back, so that's why it is on the list. The official line on the website seems to be that they're still "looking at" console versions, but I guess I'll have to read up on what's been happening with it and maybe move it to vaporware next month if it looks hopeless.

Long story short: The developers, Chucklefish haven't updated the game in early-access for over 6 months now. Yet they still continue to charge money for it, while also actively sabotaging any effort for refunds, claiming that a purchase is "what you see is what you get". The developer blog shows no significant progress other than the millionth beach ball sprite they've made. People feel scammed and the lack of communication & openness is very telling. I know it was officially announced for Vita but it looks like the game is vaporware in its entirity. Another overly ambitious developer succumbing to ealy-access greed I guess.
