December Vita lineup and upcoming titles

We've reached December, and it actually marks the third year I've been doing this. Can't stop now, can I? So here it is again - a run down of the current and upcoming games for the PlayStation Vita. As usual, this list is focused on the North American market, with Europe and Japan exclusive titles in their own sections below.

We've finally got a confirmed release date for Earth Defense Force 2 - Decmber 8th - so hopefully it will stick this time. Taking its place in the uncertainty box is JRPG The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel which has a tentative release date on 22nd. Tentative being the key word here, as it could very well be delayed multiple times as we saw with EDF. For PSN titles, music managment sim BigFest finally got a release date, while the port of Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution 2 should be coming as well. I should probably mention that Handball 16 and Darius Burst: Chronicle Saviours came out this week, though on Monday so they were technically still part of November.

Moving on to new game annoucements, we get an Experience inc (developers of Demon Gaz) RPG doublebill with NSIA picking up the gorgeous looking Stranger of Sword City for western retail release while necomer acttil is doing a PSN only localization of Ray Gigant. Beyond that there was a good selection of indies as usual, including Shakedown Hawaii from the creator of Retro City Rampage, Uncanny Valley, and Read Only Memories. There have also been sightings of English Vita trophy lists for Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls and Net High, so we'll see what happens with those, and Bandai is reportely considering localizing the action game base on The Asterisk War anime.

In Japan, Kadokawa annouced a new "tactics RPG" called God Wars: Toki wo Koete. Atelier Shallie is getting a port, as is the third Trails in the Sky game. Beyond that there were a few visual novel annoucements, including a remake of the 90s classic Eve Burst Error.

And so it looks like I'm done. No trailers this months since embedding seems broken, but if you want you can head over to YouTube and watch XSEED's Senran Kagura Estival Versus trailer yourself. I'd give a NSFW warning, but this one is fairly mild as the franchise goes. See you next year!

Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours is a great game if you're interested in shoot-'em-ups, though the PS4 or PC versions will be better experiences for most people if you're not interested in taking it on the go. Still, not too many of those games on Vita so it's good to have.

You are a saint for continuing to do this for three years @blacklagoon. These games get so little visibility there is so many I'd never knew existed if it weren't for your lists. As a PS TV owner this is really appreciated!

The PS4 version is $20 more though.

I was pretty sad at the lack of Black Friday Vita deals. I was hoping to snag one around ~$100 - $150. There are just not enough games/upcoming titles that would push me to spend more than $200 on it
